Palantir doesn’t collect data on Americans but The New York Times does. If you compare third party tracking on NYT vs Palantir websites, NYT makes 38 third-party requests. Palantir makes NONE. They bash Palantir for data privacy but sell and track customer data THEMSELVES

Send the meteor.
Things are about to get steamy in Middle-earth. With Jamie Campbell Bower making his debut as Celeborn in “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” season three, Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) will be forced to choose between her husband and Sauron (Charlie Vickers). bit.ly/4BrwlFP

1/ Two years ago, I published The Defense Reformation. It was a warning: America was in an undeclared state of emergency and our defense industrial base wasn’t ready to meet the moment. The response I received from people in industry and government was overwhelming. Everyone who was paying attention knew the situation was bad—and they were fired up to fix it. We’re still in a state of emergency, but there’s good news: the hard work of reform and mobilization has begun. The founders and funders have shown up. The heretical heroes have momentum at the Pentagon. The Last Supper of defense consolidation is over and the First Breakfast has begun. New entrants are flooding the space and forcing legacy contractors to up their game. America is entering a virtuous cycle of competition, iteration, and innovation. The Arsenal of Democracy is coming to life. To celebrate two years of hard-fought progress, I’m giving away 180 free copies of my book with Madeline Hart, Mobilize: How to Reboot the American Industrial Base and Stop World War III. Claim yours, read it, spread the good word, and get back in the fight: 18theses.com/#giveaway

Friends, the sheer volume of fraud taking place in recent years throughout the world, and in America in particular, is staggering. I heard recently that the high end of federal estimates of the amount of money stolen per year in America is greater than the GDP of Vietnam, the Philippines, or Denmark. This is a real blight upon our society, made possible, at least in part, by religious disaffiliation. Since morality is grounded, ultimately, in God, one consequence of disaffiliation is an increase in moral drift, relativism, and indifference. If we want to protect the common good, we have to recover a moral integrity rooted in the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the parables of Jesus.

If you know your job better than anyone else and want the chance to prove it with the most powerful technology out there, this is your opportunity. Apply now.
Applications for the next cohort of the American Tech Fellowship are live now! Apply today to build the future. You know your industry up close and personal. You’ve stood on the polished concrete of the shop floor. Felt the rumble of creation at the build site. Lived the ordered chaos of the hospital during a code. You know the work—and you know the bottlenecks. The paper tidal waves drowning your coworkers. The schedules and routines crying out for automation. The back-office drudgery keeping you and your team at your desks instead of in the action. Your boss may not know or care. But you do—and you’re ready to level up. The American Tech Fellowship wants you. ATF is Palantir’s 12-week virtual boot camp for workers in the load-bearing industries of American life: defense, manufacturing, construction, healthcare, ag, energy, and more. In just over a year, ATF has equipped more than 1,000 Americans from across the country with the tools they need to revolutionize their work. We induct them into the guild, train them on Palantir’s industry-leading AI tools, and then unleash them to rock and roll on real-world problems. We select only the best—and it shows. ATF graduates have gone on to great things. Many have earned new jobs and new missions at Palantir and our customers. Others have founded their own startups. All are building real tools with AI to solve the hardest problems. So if you are on the front lines of American industry and you have the fire to deliver wins for your customers and fellow citizens—we want you. Applications are open now. The cohort begins January 12th. What will you build? jobs.lever.co/palantir/0ccbe…

Are we ready? Are we serious? This is an undeclared emergency. You thought you were still inside the secure bastion of the king’s castle. You have awoken in Helm’s Deep. The orc armies are coming. Cathedral’s AI agents were inside Anthropic’s most sensitive model Slack channels in under 12 hours. Frontier AI is dual-use national power. Agent-speed offense has already outrun static defenses and private channels. Build the post-AI secure bastion. Move what you can into it. Harden the crown jewels. But deterrence is not restored by better walls alone. It is restored by American builders who can see the battlefield, operate at machine speed, and project both defense and offense. Bat signal for the Heretics.
EXCLUSIVE: In less than 12 hours, a group of ex-DOGE cyber researchers were able to penetrate Anthropic’s systems using AI agents — including Slack channels where the most sensitive models are discussed. This is just weeks after Anthropic whistleblower Joseph Coxon charged the company w/launching “a hubristic gamble” from a “private company’s Slack.” Read our story here (gift link): wapo.st/4smNlsC

From Captain Dallas in Alien to the Presbyterian minister father in A River Runs Through It, he was a man of talent and incredible range. Rest in Peace.
Tom Skerritt, the prolific, award-winning actor known for his roles in "M*A*S*H," "Alien," "Top Gun," and "Picket Fences," has died. He was 93. Skerritt died Wednesday from natural causes, his family confirmed in a statement shared with USA TODAY. "We are heartbroken by his loss," the family said. THE SOVEREIGN AI REVOLUTION IS IN FULL FORCE. We are helping our customers build superintelligence they own, with data they control. McCarthy Building fine-tuned Nemotron in Foundry on labeled RFI data in the Ontology to identify project risks before they escalate, outperforming frontier models at significantly lower cost. Tampa General is using sovereign AI to better protect patient data, keeping sensitive data and model processing local, and fine-tuning Nemotron models to classify LLM traffic against its own risk and privacy standards. NVIDIA is using Palantir AIP and Nemotron to accelerate its own supply chain, shortening the path from wafer to deployment, spotting disruptions before they hit production, and keeping its models under its control. L3Harris is bringing AI workflows in-house and building its own models trained on proprietary data to support critical defense use cases and the warfighter. Ondas is launching Regna AI on Palantir AIP, leveraging open-weight models including NVIDIA Nemotron, to help customers adapt, evaluate, and deploy mission-specialized AI while retaining control of their data, models, and infrastructure.

Building on insights from @ccpecknold and @Vermeullarmine , I wrote in @ProvMagazine how modern just war theory has degenerated into a legalistic free-for-all without the shared understanding that first made the tradition intelligible.

Bookmark it: Netflix is going to clean up with this.
EXCLUSIVE: Netflix is developing a movie adaptation of "Hatchet," Gary Paulsen’s 1987 young adult survival novel. • The film will be written and directed by Derek Cianfrance, best known for films such as “Blue Valentine” and “The Place Beyond the Pines.” • Per the synopsis: “Hatchet” follows “13-year-old Brian Robeson, who is stranded alone in the Canadian wilderness after a plane crash with nothing but the hatchet his mother gave him.” • Paulsen later expanded the story into a five-book series that included “The River” (1991), “Brian’s Winter” (1996), “Brian’s Return” (1999) and “Brian’s Hunt” (2003). wp.me/pc8uak-1lHWxk

Palantir CTO @ssankar: Anthropic has already been replaced at the DOW "The department today has a wide range of model providers—from xAI and OpenAI to open weight models like Nemotron from NVIDIA." "There's been no operational impact from that." "Companies and the government are realizing your sovereignty and agency as an institution comes down to your ability to control: decide which models you're going to use in what context, have the ability to switch models, and to be able to control the weights themselves where you need to feel that control over them. It is your alpha." Via @margbrennan @FaceTheNation

Intelligence must draw on memory. The mind must not simply compile data — as an algorithm now does more quickly than we can — but recall lived experiences, which contain depths of meaning that only the human soul can recognize, and connect more deeply with the goodness of these experiences. Everything that is good begins “with the Spirit” and thus possesses a breath, a dynamism and a sense of communion that, once experienced, are engraved upon the heart. vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…
