Jetzt bitte keine dummheiten machen, meine freunde!

This is a public service announcement for all women everywhere ever.
A fight does not happen by mutual consent. A fight happens because one person decides to start it.
That's ONE. Uno. Un. Eins. Ichi. Yī. Unus. Ett. Hana. Wāḥid.
One is not two.
Your man is not in a fight because he looked at the other guy, and they both said, hey, let's totally throw down, bro, as if fighting were a pickup game of basketball.
Your man is in a fight because one person decided to attack. That person is not necessarily your man even if, and I cannot stress this enough, even if your man is the one who throws hands first.
Yes, you read that right. If you don't understand, if it makes no sense to you, that's because you know nothing about fighting.
If you grab your man and try to restrain him, you are not preventing the fight. You are restraining him while the fight occurs.
Just because you would like your man to exit the situation does not necessarily mean he can. Even if he can, that does not necessarily mean he should.
He knows about fighting. Some men know less about it, and some men know more, but unless you are Ronda Rousey or Lena Miculek, your man always knows more about fighting than you.
If you have something you want him to do, like exit the situation if he can, use your words like a big girl.
Do not touch him.
He will ignore you, of course, because you have no idea what you are talking about, but you can talk if it makes you happy.
Do not touch him.
Step back from the area of conflict and get out of the way. Keep him between you and the threat if possible.
Do not get between him and the threat. That is retarded.
Also do not touch him.
If you do touch him, do not be surprised if you shoves you hard enough to land you on your butt ten feet away. This is the appropriate response. He is trying to protect himself and you from your willful ignorance.
Do not touch him.
If you do touch him, and he survives, do not be surprised if he ends the relationship afterwards. You grossly disrespected his judgement, and put him in serious danger with your selfish desire to be right all the time.
Do not touch him.
The time to have a conversation about whether the fight should have happened is after the fight, not while people are in danger.
Do not touch him.
Okay, quick reading comprehension test.
What should you not do?

My family (husband and two teen boys) all frequent our gym. Our gym has a men only floor, women only floor and a co-ed floor.
We were recently discussing the SNL female gym clothes joke and realized that this is why none of us go to the co-ed floor.
The women who wear skimpy clothes at the gym do not work out in the women only floor, where most of us are wearing oversized free race t-shirts and basic workout clothes.
It's so weird that there are women who don't understand that. But I'm happy for each one who eventually gets it.
“Women talk a lot about how scared of male violence they are, but from their behavior it's clear they never actually consider it a possibility”
When I was eighteen I was out for the night with my bf and some friends, we were barhopping in Kings Cross. I was tipsy & occasionally lippy & obnoxious towards strangers (who were asking for it!).
My bf quietly & discreetly at one point during the night said “babe, I love you, but fuck sometimes I worry that you’re writing cheques I won’t be able to cash, if it comes to and I’m on my own”. I was like “wtf are you talking about?”
He literally had to explain to me that if I was being a fuckwit starting trouble, he’d obviously have to defend me if anything went down, and if I’m being a massive smart ass and it’s just like him & me & my best girlfriend, then he’s going to be in a fight on his own. All because I was being an antagonistic smart ass to some strangers who couldn’t take a joke.
The idea that I needed to be able to back up my words with violence if it came to it, was something that had literally never occurred to me. Ever.
It was a total revelation. Suddenly i realised talk wasn’t “cheap” in this context, it was expensive. The idea that I could effectively get him beaten up, or put him in real danger, by being a precocious little shit arguing with idiots because I could, was horrifying.
From then on I was extremely reluctant to ever argue with strangers or act like a smart ass unnecessarily, because I was suddenly keenly aware that the guys we were with could potentially be expected to pay with their lives for any poorly received flippant comments we made.
It really was totally novel to me. This isn’t how women see the world, at all.
The idea that "everybody" WOULD be a looting rioter is just so utterly stupid. Yes, if I WERE a different person I WOULD do different things. But I'm not. For example, I grew up in a peaceful culture of respect, with parents who taught me some values. Without that, yeah, /1
I posted this horrific pic from France on Facebook - where the rioters demand that two elderly person strip to their underwear. This is the response I got from my friend. It's so utterly idiotic that I don't even know where to start with it. She's not a bad person, just a deluded, white leftist but this exchange pretty much sums up their 'thought' process. These people will be the death of us. Well - themselves, really.
This man is, on every level, a bigger man than the attackers.
I don't know the ratio between antisocial terrorists and genuine students, but he was there, so I'll take his word for it. I would, therefore, agree, that only a small minority of these "protestors" need to be /1

Of course that is not "art" by any stretch of the imagination. But neither is the bread I buy in the supermarket. It still does it's job. As does listening to this a work - maybe for that purpose it's even a feature that it's not too original and /2
