New OC, new DC, new head coach. Midweek firing with no bye week. And FSU gets their first road win in 3 years. You can’t hate Mike Norvell enough.

I still contend that Florida State getting shafted in 2023 is one of the travesties of college football. They were literally an undefeated power 4 champion and had the best defense in the country. They just beat a top 15 team by 10 points in a neutral site with a new QB. But FSU didn't make as much money for ESPN as Alabama or Texas (especially with a potential Alabama Texas rematch) so they were left out. Jokes on the committee though. They didn't get that Texas Alabama rematch they wanted. Both teams lost. Tell me - what blue chip athlete would want to play for a team who can go undefeated and still get left out of a 4 team playoff? It's no wonder FSU struggled after that. It was unforgivable and did perhaps irreparable damage to the sport. I know Texas beat Alabama by 10 at their place, but it would have been more forgiveable to put Alabama in over Texas than to put them both in over FSU. FSU should have been a lock. – at Maple Bluff, WI

Why not just live in Philly for 6 months?😂
LeBron James went from a $52.6M salary in LA to $4M a year in Philadelphia, then started commuting to practice by helicopter. Both decisions come from the same spreadsheet. The Sixers' facility sits in Camden, New Jersey. His home this season is in New York, 95 miles away. That drive runs 90 minutes to two hours each way. The helicopter does it in about 40. Call it two and a half hours saved per round trip. Across home games, practices, and film sessions, that's easily 200+ hours a season. Five full workweeks of his life, bought back. Now look at what he does with hours. LeBron reportedly spends $1.5M a year on his body. Hyperbaric chamber, cryotherapy, a personal trainer who has been with him since Cleveland. At 41, in a 24th season no one in NBA history has ever played, recovery time is the scarcest input he has. Three hours in a car is three hours of a compressed spine in I-95 traffic. Three hours at home is treatment, sleep, and legs that still work in April. The salary explains the rest. $4M is a rounding error against the billion-plus he's built off the court. He didn't come to Philadelphia for the paycheck, so there's no reason to let the paycheck's geography cost him anything physically. A charter helicopter between New York and Philly runs a few thousand dollars per flight. Over a full season that could approach $1M, a quarter of his salary, just on getting to work. Sounds reckless until you price it against the thing it protects. The contract pays $4M. The body it's attached to built a billion.

If we are hiring objectively, why would FSU hire an offensive HC who's offenses ranked 73rd, 75th, and 31st in offensive efficiency in his last 3 years? The game has passed him by. There are dozens of better candidates.

I don’t think so .. also we can get him for cheap as a bridge coach .. for 3-5 years imo

Jimbo Fisher's last 7 years as a head coach. There's a reason nobody has hired him in 3 offseasons. FSU can do much better.

It’s called the bend and break defense. Keep everything in front of you and also let them get over the top for huge chunk plays.

- Poor communication by safeties and linebackers. ✅ - Defensive linemen not impactful. ✅ - Offensive line worse than last year. ✅ - One of the worst quarterbacks in the Power Four. ✅ But it's still early.

I swear for as long as I can remember the old head tough guys would rant “the NBA is so soft. they’re all too buddy buddy. where did all the rivalries go” Wemby comes along slinging beef & making imaginary enemies, it’s been nothing but those same guys crying their eyes out about it. He’s everything you claim to miss from the 90s man

I think the concept of a most college teams having an “all-time great player” might be over. If they are that great, they will just transfer to one of the 5-10 highest-paying programs.

#Indiana football started in 1899. They now have six total bowl victories in program history. The dates: • Dec. 21, 1979 • Dec. 28, 1988 • Dec. 31, 1991 • Jan. 1, 2026 • Jan. 9, 2026 • Jan. 19, 2026 So the Hoosiers won as many bowl games in the last 19 days as they had in the previous 125 years combined. A truly mind-blowing story.

Everybody thought they were so smart with this playoff bullshit in 2014, well welcome to the land of unintended consequences. You’ve been here for over a decade at this point. We literally had it so good.

This is the kind of thinking that is ruining this sport.
Sark: "Do you not want us to play Ohio State? If we're a 10-2 team, this isn't a discussion, we're in the playoff." "This whole idea that, well, you lost to Florida. The team that played for the national championship last year lost to Northern Illinois."
