Day 28/Day 7 (weeklong) of Minneapolis Early Voting. Despite the weather, turnout has passed 16% of registered voters. It crossed 50% of all 2024 early voters and continues to trend like 2024.

Early voting continued in Kansas this weekend, and over 200,000 Kansans have voted so far! Here are the current margin and turnout numbers by House District. Johnson County continues to be a turnout nuke, but Sedgwick will catch up some this week as they open more EV locations.

This is Novi Sad, the site of the horrific awning collapse that killed 16 people, sparking the massive student-led protests that led to Vučić's demise two years later. Seeing the entire place bounce like this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime thing.

Honestly yeah. This was discovered on accident by runoff elections to guarantee a majority, but now I think Presidential elections should happen over two weeks, the first election, and the "you really want to do this?" Second election. One person, two votes.
Brazil’s results tonight are a big endorsement for the idea that every country should have a second “are you you sure about that” election a couple weeks after the first one for the important stuff

Today, Brazil re-elected incumbent president Lula da Silva, who defeated Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro. Bolsonaro won a plurality of the vote but failed to secure a majority in the first round, which was held three weeks ago.

Dread it. Run from it. Educational polarization still arrives all the same.
(Using Poliwave.com) Lula is losing votes in the rural areas compared to 2022, but is gaining bigly in urban and suburban areas compared to his prior election.

This week, Minneapolis in-person voting was 122% of 2024's corresponding week, but mail was only 58%, so overall ballots cast were 101% of the 2024 level for the week. Even that parity is remarkable comparing a midterm to a presidential election.

Lula has won a nearly insurmountable challenge: from being behind by 2 million votes and endorsed by none of the remaining candidates, the methalworker and historic union leader has defeated the far-right Bolsonaro family again. Why?

It would be interesting to compare this to the map by state of blank and spoiled ballots in the 1st round (~4% of the total)
