The history of York is the history of England ~ King George VI, 1923 ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ He wasn't exaggerating. Romans, Vikings, Saxons and Normans have all left their mark here. The city's been a Roman capital, a Viking stronghold and the site of battles that shaped the fate of the whole nation. Nearly 2,000 years of history, layered street upon street and still standing today ๐Ÿ’ช โ€“ at York, England

Fishing boats resting gently on crystal clear water, red rooftops stacked tightly together and two towering headlands sheltering the whole village from the North Sea. With a view like this it's easy to see why Staithes has been drawing fishermen and artists alike for centuries.

Let's go for a walk in Strid Wood ๐Ÿ‚ One of the largest remnants of ancient sessile oak woodland left in the Yorkshire Dales, hugging the banks of the River Wharfe. Opened to the public back in 1810 by the 6th Duke of Devonshire, its shaded paths are home to roe deer, otters, kingfishers and woodpeckers. Follow the trail far enough and you'll reach The Strid itself, a deceptively narrow stretch of river where the Wharfe is forced through at incredible pressure.

Walks in the Yorkshire Dales don't have to be complicated. From Kettlewell to Starbotton, or further on to Buckden. Simply follow the river for stunning views. No climbs, no maps, no skills needed, just a sense of adventure ๐Ÿฅฐ โ€“ at Yorkshire and The Humber, England

When the sky catches fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ Low tide, still water and a sunset so dramatic it reflected itself in the rock pools below. Moments like this don't happen often, but it's nice to be here when they do. โ€“ at Robin Hood's Bay, England
