What makes this depressing is that it theoretically met NIMBY criteria.
Aesthetic, built with local stone, provides cheap groceries during a cost-of-living crisis. All built *literally* on an empty grass field.
But, no dice. They don't actually want to build anything at all.
One Green councillor said the email was an attempt to “smear” those holding the administration to account. bathecho.co.uk/news/politics…

Kevin Guy, leader of @Bathnes and former £19,300-a-year-for-doing-nothing deputy mayor of @westofenglandCA sent his email to all the wrong people. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

I've been speaking to boaters trapped on the canal in #Bath
Many river-dwellers are heading onto the K&A to avoid the Avon's winter floods, but a closed tunnel means they are all crowding onto a single mile of canal

Absolutely pathetic. Council leader Kevin Guy accidentally blasts an email to every councillor branding questions about his £2.35m cycle lane scheme as “misinformation” and telling his side not to amplify critics. Then his team doubles down and defends it. This is how Bath’s administration treats any scrutiny of public money. Disgusting.

This misrepresentation, by Kevin Guy, of people who scrutinise him & observe the catastrophic impact of his bungling administration on Bath is quite shocking
It’s not one thing. It’s been a series of fiascos, particularly over recent months
Bath’s politics needs a clean out

These Green councillors are celebrating the fact that they've blocked a new Lidl.
Apparently, it would have upset the local bats. Some of the objections came from *other supermarkets* in the area.
We have to take on these anti-growth, anti-human, anti-choice ideologues.

What a clown parade. Nobody gets fired, nobody even gets a bollocking. It is just business as usual.

Here's what @David_on_a_bike Wilcox, @WestofEnglandCA audit chair told #Bath's Kevin Guy, mayor Helen Godwin, #Bristol's Heather Mack and Ian Boulton of South Glos on Fri. They rejected more public accountability and keeping political control of audit. Weca just published it.
