Rather than allow other browser engines to install-to-homescreen on iOS, Apple is removing the feature entirely in the EU.
Some features are tied to install-to-homescreen, such as push messages. Apple is unshipping those for EU users.

Of course everyone could join open source projects, build personal projects, have a developer twitter account but why don't they also teach coding, work for a charity, do a masters in CS...
Just an observation but I very rarely have to use @caniuse anymore. Having learnt my craft on Netscape Navigator and IE6 this really feels like we've reached the hallowed land.
