In 22 yrs through MVFC I've met Bosnians, Greeks, Asians, Chileans, Africans, Brits, teachers, lawyers, unionists, musos, socialists, bankers, ex-prisoners, conservatives, nurses, politicians, gays, academics, drug addicts & tradies.
A club for all Melburnians. That's the point.
Depressingly, apparently it was both ends of the stadium booing.
@AndrewJohnEgan made a great point - the North Terrace once had a Yothu Yindi song. From that point, this is a deterioration, regression.
10-20% of people booing can sound loud. Clearly a minority feel emboldened.
Wtf is with the booing of welcome to country? What is wrong with you??

We're making a regrettable habit of blowing grand finals and the like.

A blown opportunity to derail the bandwagon and put them to sleep for another 20 years.

There's a bit of the great Fergie Man United teams in this Brisbane Lions.
They stutter through the first half of seasons then peak at the right time.
They back themselves into corners, overcome off-field distractions and do things the hard way.
Big characters, talent, winners

OPINION 🇦🇺⚽️✍️ Judging by the reaction, the Australia Cup Final between @gomvfc and @smfc is a historical reckoning and a referendum on the soul of Australian football; all rolled into one.
According to some, it is old soccer against new football. Tradition against modernity. The NSL against the A-League. A battle between authentic football culture and the so-called ‘plastic franchise’. Perhaps even the biggest game in Australian club football history.
But, Melbourne Victory fans do not see it that way.
"Recognising South Melbourne’s history does not require Victory supporters to define themselves against it. We’ve spent the past 22 years making our own history."

Can someone explain this "wharfie time" nonsense?
As far as I can tell it's just those words on the big screen, some ACDC audio and loud shouting from the stands.
Am I missing something?
In Sydney I'll soon be staying at a place called the Gaslight Inn.
Am expecting the receptionists to ask if I'm sure I booked when I rock up
Just saw a bloke on the Quito metro with Nike tattoos on his ear & neck. Hope he's been given some free merch ffs
