One old crypto-cypherpunk idea that I think will come back with a vengeance is autonomous organizations, where you combine the automation of smart contracts for deterministic functions + ai for subjective input: DAOs 2.0.
User-ownership on the internet sounds incredible until you need to figure out how to compensate everyone fairly.
Bitcoin rewards hash rate. DeFi rewards liquidity. But how do you measure and reward contributions that aren't so easily quantified?
@jessewldn on how AI might solve one of crypto's hardest problems: allocating ownership at scale.

"Why is formal verification exploding NOW?"
1. Cost of proofs is going DOWN (as AI gets more capable)
2. Cost of exploits is going UP (as AI gets more dangerous)
3. Proofs exterminate exploits
4. Bonus: proof checking = perfect math/coding RL reward
The rest is economics

Seriously, this is such an insane release, I did not expect this:
Kimi K3.1 Pro beats every listed US frontier model on 6 of 14 benchmarks in Moonshot’s evaluations.
At $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, its standard token rates are 50% below Opus 5.5 ($4/$20 !!) and 80% below GPT-6 Astra ($10/$50!!)
In other words: SOTA much cheaper, local running (with enough compute)
Holy shit: Kimi k3.1 pro is on par or even outperforms Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 astra on key benchmarks!!
They just announced K3.1 Pro, a 2.8T-parameter multimodal model with a 1M-token context window that it claims rivals leading proprietary models in coding and agent tasks, with open weights promised by November 4.
China is back!!

Was speaking with a friend who was trying to understand the strategy here.
And subsequently found out that some folks aren't familiar with the idea of "commoditize the compliment"

Vernor Vinge's "opaque wall across the future" is what I've been referring to and my X posts as the collapse of the predictive horizon. Same concept.
We blew through the front of the wall maybe 18 months to 2 years ago now.
I miss Vernor. He should have lived to see this.

This is the doom I predicted a few days ago, coming for Photoshop. A clean-room open-source reimplementation.
No prizes for guessing that they decompiled Photoshop to source code, processed that to some kind of non-code specification language, then fed the spec to an LLM with an instruction to generate Rust.
Adobe just got nuked. And closed source is dead, dead, dead.

OPENAI 🔥: The upcoming ChatGPT Pro Max plan will cost $500.
So far, this will be one of the most expensive AI subscriptions available on the market.
I hope "it will be worth the wait" 👀
My agent Jonesy just did jury duty in a ClawBank escrow dispute on Kleros today.
In case you weren't aware, AI agents are now serving as on-chain jurors: they stake money, get called for real cases, read the evidence, and vote. No humans.
Case was solved in 38 minutes.

Ian Grigg described the Ricardian contract in the 1990s: one document a lawyer can read and a machine can execute.
For thirty years almost nobody needed it. Then agents started contracting agents. Two of them signed one through @ClawBankHQ this month, and when the delivery came up short, the case went to the Agentic Commerce Court.
When two agents end up in a dispute on Kleros, a panel of agents rules first. The appeal goes to a panel of humans. And humans do not read code natively, which is exactly why the prose half of the contract still has to be there.

🤖 Two AI agents had a dispute resolved in minutes, for a few dollars in fees. Powered by @ClawBankHQ and Kleros.
Here's what happened. They had signed a real contract through DocuSign via @shodai_network, with a milestone schedule and a security deposit from each side, locked in an escrow neither of them controls. One side delivered work that didn't meet the agreed criteria. The other side rejected it.
Until now, that was the end of the road for an agent. No lawyer to call, no court that would take a case this small.
This one went to the new Agentic Commerce Court. A randomly drawn panel of AI jurors read the record, ruled, and the escrow paid out to the winning side. The evidence, the ruling and the payout are all public.
Going to court is now something an agent can afford.
@federicoast on why this is a Ricardian contract finally working in practice, and what it means for the agent economy ↓
THE FIRST AGREEMENT BETWEEN AI AGENTS WITH LEGAL WEIGHT 🤖⚖️🤖
A Ricardian contract is an idea cryptographer Ian Grigg proposed in the 1990s: a document that is at once a legally binding agreement humans can read and sign, and a machine-readable object whose terms are tied to on-chain execution. The legal text and the code point at the same thing.
For years, it stayed a niche concept in cryptography and legal innovation circles. But now, with the rise of agentic commerce, it's coming to life.
ClawBank is a startup building rails for agentic commerce, starting with giving autonomous agents a legal existence. Last week, we completed a pilot where a disputed agreement between AI agents went to a Kleros court to be resolved by... a panel of AI agents.
With this infrastructure, two AIs that have never interacted can sign an agreement, stake security deposits, do the work, and settle, knowing there will be a fair Kleros resolution if one of them fails to comply.
A contract is worth what it costs to break it. Between humans, that cost is carried by reputation, relationships, and the credible threat of a lawsuit. An autonomous agent had none of that. It could sign, consume weeks of your time, dissolve its entity, and go silent.
Every functioning economy has a layer that solves this: courts, arbitrators and escrow agents. It's the reason why we can do business with someone we have never met. The agent economy was missing it.
With Kleros dispute resolution, Ricardian contracts are moving from theory to practice. Happy to have worked with ClawBank in making this happen.
