I'm just gonna say it again ... Jewish voters in Michigan have expressed concerns, fears, and anxieties for months about El-Sayed's dangerous anti-Semitic rhetoric and have consistently sought reassurance from him, and people like Mehdi Hasan and others on the left "have not said a word about it" because they don't care about anti-Semitism, they don't care about Jewish safety, and they don't care about the future of American Jewry. All they care about is Islamophobia (I mean, he says it below!), and their continued refusal to even acknowledge Jewish fears is, as much as anything else, driving Jews to vote for Mike Rogers. I mean, I wish this wasn't true because I live in America, and I raise my children here, and I want them to live in a country that believes their lives, their identity, and their safety matter. But if the last three years have shown me anything, it's that for much of the left, Jews don't count, and my safety and security do not matter to them.
I'm just gonna say it again: Haley Stevens went on CNN tonight, in primetime, for several minutes, and said not a word about the vicious and dangerous bigotry that he - and the Muslims of Michigan - have been targeted with by the party that her fiancee is voting for.

Dolores Huerta was a pioneering labor leader and legendary civil rights activist. Amidst the struggle of the movement, her rallying cry, "Sí se puede," was a call to stay in the fight. The work of Dolores Huerta and the United Farm Workers was a driving force for change across California and our country. Her brilliant organizing and fierce negotiating came to the national spotlight during the Delano Grape strike, and countless people benefited from her decades-long career. Thanks to her, immigrants and workers won better wages, working conditions, environmental protections, and voting rights. I was blessed to know Dolores for many years and proud to organize alongside my dear friend to champion working families and immigrant rights. I will always be grateful for her support and friendship. We will honor her legacy by continuing the fight for the dignity of every person. Doug and I send our love and prayers to the four generations of loving family she leaves behind, the community she built, and to the millions of people who have been touched by her work.

As Nate Silver suggested, the four- or five-point candidate quality gap between Jocelyn Benson and Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan is an example of the sort of self-inflicted injury the Democrats wouldn’t have to deal with, had they nominated a centrist appropriate for that state. Regardless of midterm results, the Dems need to have an internal reckoning with the left. We can’t let them keep damaging us.

the cheesecake factory discourse a back to the future reminder of what 2008-2016 was like on here. Obama makes funny joke revealing he's like the average American (fluent enough in gaudy chain restaurants to jest about a specific chain). GOPers decide it means he's not #oneofus. This goes on for days...

If you don’t believe some folks adopt trans or queer labels for the sole purpose of getting attention and being able to claim victimhood then you have never really examined the way white people crave and seek out ways to feel oppressed in order to dismiss/negate their privilege.

Gay activists won marriage equality because they campaigned on "we're normal people and this is a civil liberties issue". It was persuasion. Trans activists are treading water because they're campaigning on "validate me or you're a bigot".

You can debate strategy until the sun comes up, but my read is that Josh Turek is just a genuine transphobe. The ad goes much farther than what would be necessary if he were acting only on strategy.

The Democratic Party is not a fuckin Arby's. You don't just show up and place an order. You gotta put in some goddamn work before you start making demands on people who have for DECADES.

This is roughly how that view looked in December 2025.
Hollywood Bowl from the rear after its fourth shell was constructed in 1929. It looks nothing like that nowadays, but I’m surprised to see that bridge leading from the Bowl to nowhere. And what about that little house tucked under the bridge. Did someone live there? A caretaker?

The dumbest takes are MAGA trying to claim Obama’s line about Trump making the WH look like a Cheesecake Factory is somehow elitist because CF fans will be offended that someone doesn’t want the WH to look like a chain restaurant. Even their culture war BS is lame this cycle.

This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.
Does Obama not understand that to most Americans the Cheesecake Factory is a very nice and fancy restaurant?

Claiming that Democrats are “abandoning” trans people is pure bullshit and anyone pushing this lie is an op.
Pushing back and voting for someone worse is two different things

No one is doing more for transit in America than Los Angeles. This is LA Metro’s full buildout vision: rail and rapid-transit lines stretching from the Valley to the South Bay, the Westside to the Inland Empire. The car capital is rewriting its entire future by betting on transit
This is the SECOND major transit project to break ground in Los Angeles this week. First: the East San Fernando Valley light-rail line. Now: the 12.4-mile Vermont Avenue BRT • 12.4 miles of BRT • Dedicated bus lanes • Connections to the B, D, E and C Lines • Trips up to 24% faster • Upgraded service for 38,000 daily riders @metrolosangeles hopes to finish the Vermont Corridor before the 2028 Olympics. No American city is doing more for transit that Los Angeles

The entire “trans people in sports” debate is INVENTED. There are so few of us in the country that it’s not even a concern in most places. This is an anti-Democratic psyop. When you allow algorithms to inform you on what you should be outraged about you’re already losing.

If trans people keep falling for Russian and Republican psyops and demonizing all Democrats for imagined slights people are going to absolutely stop listening to us or advocating for us. It’s maddening and I don’t know how to stop it.

Again, it's really hard not to notice which races are underperforming the environment (MI, MN, ME) and what they all have in common...
The Cook Political Report shifted its rating of Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race toward Republicans, another sign that a contest Democrats once expected to win comfortably has become increasingly competitive in the closing weeks of the campaign. wapo.st/4dOOGm6
