Child is responsibility of both parents. If husband took no responsibility, he should be held accountable. Grandparents saying “baccha kar lo” doesn’t transfer his parenting duties to them. Also, we’re hearing only one side of story, don’t know thusband’s or in-laws’ perspective.

It’s easy to damage reputation of husband and his parents on social media.
Passing judgment without the full picture isn’t critical thinking.
2026. Is the new born responsibility of the parents or the grandparents?
Why do women think that old and ageing in-laws duty is look after their new born?
You and your husband planned the baby, so be an adult and shoulder the responsibility.
Don’t treat in laws as baby sitters.

These days, girls are getting really direct about what they want in marriage.
My friend met a girl through an arranged marriage setup and she had a few conditions:
- I won't live with your parents.
- I don't know how to cook, so we'll have to hire a cook.
- I'll wake up whenever I want. Don't keep nagging me about it.
- I do some freelance work, but I won't be able to contribute financially because I need to give money to my parents.
- I love travelling, so we should take at least one trip every year for 10-15 days.
He was fine with all of this as he already lives alone in a different city, understands personal freedom and has house help for pretty much everything.
But he backed out when he realised that all she wanted to know was how much his family earns, what properties they own, how much he has in savings, which car he drives, and how often he goes on international trips.
She barely showed any interest in getting to know him as a person, what he likes or dislikes.

If this can happen in 2026, understanding how the British managed to rule us from 1757 to 1947 is a no-brainer.

You don't go to the petrol pump and ask for "do katori petrol." You measure liters.
So why are you measuring your daily nutrition in "handfuls," "chammach," and vague hopes?
MIL used to make me pick up used plates (BF, Lunch, dinner) of all family members and it was very humiliating. Even my grown -ass husband was okay with it. Once I had to get up from table as new born was crying, when I came back, everyone plates was picked up except mine.
a few years ago, we hosted a family (Indian origin but UK based) for dinner.
Their sons (married and in their 30s) did exactly this. Left their plates at table and my reaction was - "why? why they are not taking their plates in kitchen? who exactly they are expecting to pick it? They are UK born and raised and no one has help here. What kind of upbringing is this?"
apparently, a few things are very deeply rooted in our blood.
