The Chicxulub impact was a 180 km wide asteroid that hit modern-day Mexico 66 million years ago. This led to the K-T extinction, ending the Cretaceous, allowing mammals to thrive. Humanity is a direct result of this impact. Anyway, great rooting interest for England v. Mexico.
