After impeachment @SakajaJohnson must be held personally responsible for the deaths of innocent Kenyans, destruction of property, looting of public resources, and making a mockery of the office of the Governor of Nairobi.

My learned friends, this is my final submission — and I promise not to seek an adjournment. Tomorrow isn’t just about personalities; it’s about the kind of Law Society we want to be. I stand firmly for the rule of law, human rights, and constitutionalism — not when it’s convenient, but especially when it’s uncomfortable. If you want steady hands, a courageous voice, and leadership that shows up long after the campaign posters come down, I ask for your vote. Whatever the verdict, I remain — always — your colleague at the Bar. Sofia Wangechi Rajab General Member Representative Candidate LSK Council 2026-2028

Over the past weeks, I have had the privilege of engaging in powerful conversations across our profession — in events, law firm offices, WhatsApp forums, phone calls, and spirited debates. I am deeply grateful. Thank you for the questions. Thank you for the encouragement. Thank you for believing that our profession can — and must — be better. My ethos has always been clear and unwavering: fidelity to the rule of law, an uncompromising commitment to human rights, and deep respect for constitutionalism. These are not slogans for me — they are the foundation of my work as an advocate. I believe the law must protect the vulnerable, check power without fear or favour, and remain anchored in the values of justice, equality, and accountability. Democracy within the Law Society of Kenya is strengthened by dialogue. The debates we have had — sometimes tough, sometimes uncomfortable — reflect a profession that cares about its future. I do not take that for granted. To every advocate who opened their door, picked up my call, challenged my ideas, or affirmed this vision: I see you. I appreciate you. I am accountable to you. On 19th February 2026 I humbly ask for your vote. Let us choose integrity. Let us choose courage. Let us choose leadership grounded in the rule of law and human dignity. The legal profession is at a reckoning. Sexual harassment and bullying are a cancer we will not tolerate. This Friday, 13 Feb, advocates will occupy the LSK offices. The entire LSK Council must be present. Silence ends. Survivors get justice. Perpetrators face consequences.

Sexual harassment is not a rite of passage in the legal profession. It is misconduct. Full stop. For too long, advocates—especially women, pupils, and young lawyers—have been pressured to endure abuse in silence to protect careers and reputations. That culture shields perpetrators and drives talent out of our profession. I reject it. As a member of the LSK Gender Committee, I helped shape our anti-bullying and sexual harassment framework. Through Dear Law, I spoke openly about abuse in our profession when silence was the norm. I have confronted sexual harassment—publicly and institutionally—and I will continue to do so. We need more than policy on paper: enforced standards, safe reporting, real consequences, and leadership that does not look away. Advocates defend the Constitution. The LSK Council must defend them too. Sofia Wangechi Rajab Candidate, General Member Representative LSK Council 2026–2028

This endorsement means the world to me. ✊🏽 I’ve worked alongside @Milliegeza Millie Odhiambo for over a decade on women’s and children’s rights, so her support is deeply personal. For context: I did my pupillage at the Office of the Attorney General, interned at the @HakiKNCHR, and got my first job at @TheCRADLEKENYA— with Millie on my interview panel. Many don’t know this, but she introduced the Counter Trafficking in Persons Bill as a private member’s bill — now law. I was young, eager, and ready to fight child, labour and sex trafficking. I would be honoured to bring this experience to the LSK Council — but election or not, the work of defending rights and protecting the vulnerable, marginalized and oppressed The journey continues. ⚖️🔥 Sofia Wangechi Rajab General Member Representative Candidate LSL Council 2026-2028

If we do not stand for something, we risk falling for anything. I had the privilege of attending the ceremonial groundbreaking of Wakili Towers on 30/01/2026.During the ceremony, the Ministry of Interior Cabinet Secretary Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen pledged a Kshs. 10 Million contribution by President William Ruto and DP Kindiki in support of the project. The Law Society of Kenya must stand tall and stop pandering to those who consistently undermine the rule of law, justice, and constitutionalism. Our institutional integrity demands no less. If the President wishes to pledge KES 10 million toward Wakili Towers, the source of those funds must be transparently declared. Kenyans have borne witness to questionable public donations flowing into churches, harambees, and private causes. The LSK cannot, in good faith, champion good governance, transparency, and adherence to the rule of law while simultaneously engaging in the duplicitous act of accepting funds from a condemned regime. The next LSK Council must be prepared to fight for justice—firmly, fearlessly, and without compromise. We must be aggressive in defending our values, the protection the public interest, maintenance of integrity and professionalism, and uncompromising in advancing the mission and vision of the Society. The critical question before us is this: how far are we willing to go to protect the freedoms guaranteed under the Constitution? Any deviation from our principles must be rejected in toto. Dear Counsel, It’s Friday, a perfect moment to reflect on the future of our Bar. The Law Society thrives when leadership is grounded in integrity, guided by purpose, and committed to serving every member with fairness and transparency. This is a time for steady leadership that listens, represents, and delivers meaningful change for the profession. I offer principled leadership, a clear vision, and a genuine commitment to strengthening the Bar through accountability, inclusion, and service. My focus is on building a responsive Law Society that protects the interests of advocates, upholds professional standards, and creates lasting impact for the entire membership. As we look ahead to the next chapter of LSK, let us choose leadership that inspires confidence and unity. Leadership that works.
