For years I kept these memories to myself. Some were too painful to speak of, others too precious. In Belonging, I have finally written them down. My conversation with @guardian ↓ theguardian.com/world/2026/n… theguardian.com/world/2026/n…

“Rahul and Priyanka, rushed to my arms in tears. When they had been abruptly picked up from school by black-uniformed commandos, they sensed a catastrophe. Once home, they saw some of the staff sobbing. They asked question after question. “Where’s Mama?” “Why have we been brought home?” “Where’s Papa?” “What’s happened?” “Where’s Dadi?” “You aren’t telling us the truth!” I wanted to sit with them and hug them, to break the news to them gently, but I was unable to – I had to go back; Rajiv was coming to the hospital.” For the first time, @SoniaGandhi ji opens her heart to recount the spine-chilling moments of Indira ji’s assassination - not merely the brutal violence against India’s Prime Minister, but the shattering loss of a mother, the pillar of the family, and a doting grandmother. theguardian.com/world/2026/n…

The fight against Mohan-Modi-Shah-Gyanesh is not a fight for a chair or a position. It is a fight to safeguard the soul of our Constitution and democracy, and to honour the supreme sacrifices made by generations who fought to protect our country. It is everybody's struggle. That is also Rahul Ji’s call: All Protests Are One. Congress General Secretary (Organisation) Shri @kcvenugopalmp spoke to the Hindustan Times.
Spoke to the Hindustan Times on the burning political issues we face - from our campaign against Vote Chori, to Amit Shah’s dirty tricks to steamroll the delimitation bill. Do give the entire conversation a read!

To be made to feel like an outsider in your own country - a country you came to through love, made your home through marriage, built a happy family in, and where you eventually endured an unimaginable tragedy - must have been deeply hurtful. More so when such doubts came from colleagues and people you had placed your trust in. But not everyone allows personal hurt and disappointment to stand in the way of a larger purpose. Some choose to rise above it. And carry on. Smt. Sonia Gandhi's interview with @the_hindu
