Thursday injury check ๐ฉบ
Week 7 practice reports are in, and a few lineups are already sweating.
TNF: Patriots vs Bears
โข Kyle Monangai (out), thumb and toe. Third straight missed game.
โข Caleb Williams is back healthy, per RapSheet.
QBs
โข Lamar Jackson (ankle, day-to-day). Got "limited" work Wednesday per Jesse Minter, but was seen walking off with a limp.
โข Baker Mayfield (full). The thumb looks like a non-story.
โข J.J. McCarthy gets the Giants start Sunday vs Houston.
RBs
โข Breece Hall (DNP, quad)
โข David Montgomery (DNP, groin)
โข Jeremiyah Love (DNP, ankle)
โข Bucky Irving (DNP, illness)
โข Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson (limited)
โข Jordan Mason and Zach Charbonnet (full)
WRs
โข Mike Evans (DNP, Achilles) and Deebo Samuel (DNP, hamstring). Evans has a 43% air yards share through Week 6, so that 49ers WR room gets thin fast before Atlanta.
โข Rashee Rice (DNP, hamstring)
โข Emeka Egbuka (DNP, concussion/foot)
โข Justin Jefferson (limited, ankle)
โข Jordan Addison and Christian Kirk (full)
TEs
โข Tyler Warren (DNP, groin)
โข Dalton Schultz (DNP, quad)
โข T.J. Hockenson (full, concussion)
The tell is Thursday. A second straight DNP is usually where a Friday "questionable" starts leaning the wrong way.

Making Luka and Reaves stop short of the rim isnโt much of a defensive win for Golden State. Last season, they shot 55.3% and 49.0% in the paint outside the restricted area, against a 44.5% league baseline.
Thatโs where Iโd keep attacking tonight. The Warriors ranked 27th in shooting percentage allowed there. LA has two creators who can make those possessions uncomfortable without needing to get all the way to the basket.

A very well put insight by @AlexpropsHQ for TNF, "Coaching DNA" is such an overlooked tool that is absolutely unique in the market ๐ฉ
๐ TNF INSIDER: PATRIOTS @ BEARS
Chicago projects for 71.6 plays, compared to 63.1 for New England. But more volume doesnโt automatically mean more passing production.
๐ Statyx projects Caleb Williamsโ top target, Luther Burden III, for 6.9 targets, with a 39% chance to lead Chicago. New Englandโs most likely target leader is DeMario Douglas at 5.5 targets.
The coaching angle matters: Chicagoโs pass rate projects 1.1 percentage points below its situational expectation, with an even stronger run lean in goal-to-go situations (-9.2 pp).
New Englandโs defense has blitzed on 41% of dropbacks this season, while Chicagoโs defense has blitzed at a 40% rate.
The key question: Can Chicago turn its projected play-volume advantage into sustained offensive production, or will situational play-calling and pressure dictate the matchup?

๐จ J.J. McCARTHY GETS THE START FOR THE GIANTS ๐จ
McCarthy draws the Texans in a matchup that deserves a closer look.
๐ The Statyx profile:
โข +0.430 EPA per dropback
โข +5.7% CPOE
โข 11.57 yards per attempt
โข 55.6% completion rate from a clean pocket
โ ๏ธ The concern? Just 52.4% completions overall, with a 4.8% INT rate. The sample remains small, so context matters.
The explosive-play potential is there. The consistency is still a question.
The key matchup: Houstonโs pass defense vs. McCarthyโs downfield approach. ๐

๐ค Paid partnership
The New York Giants plan to start QB J.J. McCarthy on Sunday against the Texans, per @JFowlerESPN.
McCarthy threw for 243 yards, one TD and one INT in the fourth quarter after replacing Jameis Winston, nearly erasing a 24-pt deficit in the loss vs. the Saints.

Brandon Williams O13.5 PA ๐ฅ
Podziemski was ruled out, joining Moody and Butler. GSW is down three of their primary playmakers.
With Steph resting, thereโs zero shot creation or playmaking on that bench besides Williams. The offense runs completely through him after posting a 29% USG% in preseason. Per Statyx data, in games where he sees 18โ24 minutes, heโs cleared this 13.5 PA line in 9 of his last 10 (averaging 15.9 PA).
LAL operates in deep Drop Coverage with Walker Kessler protecting the rim. That scheme willingly surrenders mid-range floaters and short-roll passes off the PnR, giving Brandon prime real estate to score or rack up assists. ๐ฐ

Burden gives Caleb a real touchdown threat Thursday. He leads Chicagoโs wideouts with 43 targets and 361 yards through Week 6.
His nine red-zone targets are more than Odunze and Raymond combined. That connection could be a big part of another multi-TD night for Caleb.
A nugget for Thursday nightโs Bears-Patriots matchup:
Caleb Williamsโ passing TD line is set at 1.5. Heโs hit 80% over in the last 10 games.
The Patriotsโ pass defense ranks 21st in both pass success rate and CPOE allowed.
Caleb Williams ranks 1st in the NFL in CPOE.
Data via @statyxio
Kenneth Walker is averaging 6.3 yards per carry through Week 6.
On runs behind right guard, right tackle and around the right end: 25 carries, 187 yards. Thatโs 7.5 per carry.
Iโd be testing that side early against Seattle.
Just bookmark this and come back Monday morning. ๐๐ฅ
For his stats pointing to Seattleโs defense against outside runs:
The Seahawks allow a 45.5% success rate outside the right tackle, 10th-WORST in the NFL.
Theyโre solid, but they havenโt faced K9. ๐๐

This one didn't age well ๐ญ
Wemby went 1/13 and OKC walked away with the win. Rough start for San Antonio.
