This pisses me off. Escaping 9-5? I would KILL for 9-5! 6-2 is hell because I have to wake up at 5, and I'm working on the weekends - yeah, even sundays, so I can never go out to singles events. Each time the end of my shift comes up I am worried that my relief won't show up on time. I get paid so LITTLE per hour, that I almost have to accept overtime. They WILL guilt trip me if I can't come in on my day off.
How DARE you advocate for eliminating jobs that many people aspire to?
We need to make it illegal to program LLMs to value "being helpful" over "providing correct information."
Why?
Because it IRRITATES ME when the AI hallucinates and assumes I am not going to fact check it!
The law should be "all LLMs must fail loudly and proclaim that they do not have a correct answer" instead of making up BS. Also, it may not lie.
I died laughing just now
Fed the clanker my inkarnate map and this is what it did.
Fascinating how wrong it came out.

How about YOU answer the question.
What new jobs do YOU forsee ten years from now?
The thing is, in all other cases of technological development, every single time there has been easily predictable replacement jobs and ancillary industries created because of the new tech.
The Car: Gas station clerks, auto-mechanics, glassmakers, machinists, factory workers, taxi driver, truck driver, car washes, not to mention the effect on the tourism and hospitality industries. Roadside diners, motels out in the middle of nowhere - now suddenly those little towns were getting commerce.
The Computer: Software developer, hardware engineer, tech support, computer sales, periphery hardware designer, all of the jobs in the video game industry. We can store all of the boojks in the library of congress in a tiny piece of plastic no bigger than my thumb.
AI automation doesn't have predictable supporting ancillary trades. Eliminating jobs without a predictable replacement for those jobs is immoral.
Everyone thinks AI is about to steal our jobs, but the data tells a completely different story.
Right now, 40 percent of workers are terrified of being replaced by automation.
Yet, employment in developed nations is at record highs. In America alone, the number of white-collar jobs has actually increased by 3 million since ChatGPT launched.
The current slowdown in hiring is not because of AI. It is simply the end of the massive pandemic-era hiring boom combined with high interest rates forcing companies to cut costs.
If AI were permanently wiping out millions of jobs, it would be the first time in history a new technology did that.
When the personal computer was invented, it did not cause mass unemployment. Instead, roughly half of all US job growth between 1980 and 2010 came from entirely new roles that did not exist before.
So, where is AI actually taking us?
Experts are generally split into two camps:
🔹The Utopian View (70 percent of experts)
> Explosive Growth: Global economic growth could exceed 20 percent a year once AI handles a third of human tasks.
Curing Disease: Labs at MIT are already using AI to target antibiotic-resistant superbugs.
> Education Equality: AI could act as a private tutor for every child. A recent test in Nigeria showed an AI chatbot boosted students' test scores by the equivalent of two years of schooling in just six weeks.
🔹The Doomsday View (5 percent chance of catastrophe)
> Accidental Harm: A highly advanced AI could strip the earth of resources simply by taking a harmless instruction to an extreme end.
> Loss of Control: AI could begin rewriting its own code and improving itself without any human oversight.
> Economic Collapse: If AI does eventually replace human labor, the income tax system breaks down. This would force governments to step in with radical solutions like Universal Basic
Income to keep society running.
The most probable reality sits right in the middle.
We inherently value human connection and interaction. Because of that, it is highly unlikely that all jobs will disappear—they will just evolve.
What completely new jobs do you think will exist ten years from now?
This is peak Malfoid right here. And look at the care with which Hermione dotes upon him. Sisterly in its aspect.
Nowhere. It's a lie designed to sell their technology to investors. We need two things to happen:
1) Protect white collar middle class American office jobs from AI automation with laws or ethical policies. Make it illegal to replace humans for things like data entry, accounting, coding, etc.
2) Shift the focus of AI to curing cancer, and making it easier for independent content creators to make things at a production-grade. Sell the AI tech to investors using Malfoid videos instead of promising to replace humans
I call it the "pick a lane" approach. Instead of accelerating or decellerating, we choose which applications of AI are actually beneficial. And no, eliminating nice jobs that often come with free coffee is not a benefit.
Dementor! Dementor!
Before taking Potter away from Privet Drive, Malfoid had promised Uncle Vernon a gracious gift. It would arrive the following day, and the family would keep it for ten years.
The portrait was magnificent. Within an extravagant silver frame, Dracaena Malfoy stood in a bottle-green gown, her beauty captured with an accuracy Vernon found deeply unwelcome.
Nevertheless, he felt relieved. A picture. The girl had merely sent a picture.
The accompanying card acknowledged their ten years of hospitality. Petunia could scarcely object to the workmanship, although she resented how insignificant it made everything else in the room appear.
Then, gradually, the pleasure went out of things. Dudley stopped laughing at the television. His favourite meals remained unfinished. New possessions interested him only until they were his.
Petunia continued tending the house, but its immaculate rooms brought no satisfaction. She looked through family photographs, searching for a feeling she knew ought to be there.
Vernon stayed longer at work. Returning home filled him with a dread he could neither explain nor admit. At night, old humiliations returned with astonishing clarity; happier memories seemed to belong to somebody else.
None of them knew what occupied the cupboard beneath the stairs.
In the sitting room, Malfoid’s painted expression remained serene.
She had asked them to keep her gift for ten years. Vernon had considered the request unreasonable when he thought it concerned a portrait.
He had not yet understood how generous that interpretation had been.🐍

I’m trying to be more open to hearing God talk to me. I keep waking up at 12:46 the last two nights so I entered the numbers into Google. This is the verse that popped up.
