Some stories are too wild to tell out loud. So I write them here.

My concern with Avengers: Doomsday is that bringing back familiar heroes could become more important than giving them something meaningful to do. Nostalgia is powerful. Seeing beloved characters return can make an audience emotional before the story has even begun. But that emotion will not last if the characters exist only to generate reactions. Doctor Doom needs to force the Avengers into decisions that reveal who they have become, not simply give them another reason to stand together for a final battle. The best crossover is not the one with the most recognizable faces. It is the one where every character matters to the outcome.

My mother-in-law took one bite of my Thanksgiving meal and said, “I can see why my son has been losing weight.” Everyone at the table burst out laughing. I smiled, took off my apron, and handed it to her. “Well, that settles it. You’re in charge of his meals next Thanksgiving.”

Suddenly, nobody was laughing anymore. Now my husband says I went too far and embarrassed his mother.

My neighbor kept complaining that my dog was barking at night. I told him the dog doesn’t even bark. He said he had proof. The next morning he left a note on my door with a video attached. I watched it. It was my dog, quiet, just sitting there. Then the camera panned and showed my other neighbor standing in my backyard at 2 a.m. talking to my dog. The note said “Tell your dog to stop listening to him. He’s the one keeping me up.”

I'm 30. My wife is 33. We've been married eight years and have two kids, a boy who's 5 and a girl who's 3. I love all three of them more than I can say, and I still feel like a glorified wallet. Let me lay out the setup. I work in logistics management, and I'm usually out the door by 6:15 a.m. and back around 7 p.m. Two days a week I'm on call, so dinner turns into a plate in the microwave. My wife stays home with the kids. We decided that together when our son was born, because daycare for two would have eaten most of what she made anyway. Her income was never the point. We agreed it made sense. I pay for everything. The mortgage, the cars, groceries, preschool, her phone bill, her gym membership, her subscription boxes, and the monthly "girls' night" that somehow costs $200 every time. I don't mind. I'm not a stingy guy. What I mind is what happens after I walk through the door. The kids run to her first. If one of them gets hurt, they cry for her. If they want something, they ask her, and she says, "Ask your dad, he's the one who pays for stuff." My son said that to me last week. He's five. He looked at me like I was a vending machine that had stopped dispensing. When I get home, I jump straight in. I do bath time, read the books, and clean the kitchen. And she says, "Finally, I get a break," and disappears into the bedroom with her phone for two hours. I don't remember the last time she said thank you. Not for the money, and not for the work.

4 YEARS AGO TODAY, ELON MUSK TOOK OVER TWITTER. Jack Dorsey helped build it. Elon Musk bought it, changed the name, changed the rules, and completely changed the experience. DID ELON MAKE TWITTER BETTER, OR DID HE RUIN WHAT JACK DORSEY BUILT?
4 YEARS AGO TODAY, ELON MUSK BOUGHT TWITTER. The former owner sold it for $44 billion, and Elon turned it into X. Be honest… did Elon save Twitter, or was the old Twitter better?

MY SON INVITED 200 GUESTS TO HIS WEDDING BUT TOLD ME NOT TO COME. THREE DAYS LATER, HIS BRIDE CALLED ME CRYING. I’m 58 years old, and I’ve spent most of my life believing that a mother’s love can survive anything. I was wrong. When my husband died, my son, Daniel, was only 12. We had very little money, and I worked two jobs to keep him in school. I cleaned offices in the morning and worked in a small restaurant at night. Some evenings, I came home so exhausted that I fell asleep in my clothes. But Daniel never went without what he needed. When he wanted to attend university, I sold the gold necklace my husband had given me on our wedding day. When he wanted to start a business, I used my savings to help him buy his first equipment. And when his business nearly collapsed two years later, I gave him the money I had been saving for my retirement. He promised to pay me back. I told him not to worry. “You’re my son,” I said. “What is mine is yours.” Years passed. Daniel’s business eventually became successful. He moved into a beautiful apartment, bought an expensive car, and began dating a woman named Sophia. I was happy for him. When he called to tell me he was getting married, I cried with joy. Finally, I thought, I would get to see my son begin the family he had always dreamed of. I immediately started saving money for his wedding gift. I bought a beautiful dress, had my hair done, and purchased a small gold bracelet for his bride. Then, two weeks before the wedding, Daniel visited me. He barely touched the tea I had prepared. “Mom, there’s something I need to tell you.” I smiled. “What’s wrong, darling?” He looked uncomfortable. “Sophia’s family is very particular about appearances. They don’t know much about our past, and I don’t want anything awkward happening at the wedding.” I didn’t understand. “What do you mean?” He took a deep breath. “I think it would be better if you didn’t attend.” For a moment, I thought I had misunderstood him. “You don’t want your own mother at your wedding?” “It’s not like that,” he replied quickly. “I’ll visit you afterward. I’ll bring pictures. Please don’t make this difficult.” I looked at the bracelet sitting on my table. I had bought it for the woman who was about to become my daughter-in-law. “Is Sophia asking you to do this?” I whispered. “No. This is my decision.” Those words hurt more than anything else he could have said. I didn’t scream. I didn’t beg. I simply nodded. “All right, Daniel.” He looked relieved. Before leaving, he hugged me briefly and promised that nothing would change between us. After he left, I sat alone in my living room for hours. On the morning of his wedding, I put on the dress I had bought. I stood in front of the mirror, adjusted my necklace, and imagined walking into the venue with my son beside me. Then I took the dress off and returned it to the wardrobe. I didn’t attend the wedding. I didn’t call him. I didn’t send the bracelet. Three days later, my phone rang. It was Sophia. She was crying so hard that I could barely understand her. “Please, can I come and see you?” I thought something terrible had happened. “Are you all right, dear?” “No,” she whispered. “And I don’t think Daniel has told you the truth.” My heart began to race. What had my son been hiding from his new wife? And why was she crying just three days after their wedding?

My son lost his chance to present his experiment at the school fair because one of his group members broke a rule during rehearsal. Four students had spent two weeks preparing an experiment about plants, and my son was responsible for the notes and presentation. During the final rehearsal, one boy started playing with the materials despite the teacher’s warning. He accidentally knocked over part of their project.

The teacher got angry and b@nned the entire group from participating. My son explained that he had been following instructions, but she insisted they should have stopped their classmate. He came home crying because he had already invited his grandparents. I contacted the teacher, who admitted my son hadn’t misbehaved but said the group needed to learn collective responsibility. I understand that rules matter, but how can my son be responsible for another student’s actions 😩

My best friend invited me to her wedding, but her fiancé called me privately and asked me not to attend. My best friend and I had been close for twelve years. We met in college, shared our deepest secrets, and stood by each other through heartbreaks, financial struggles, and family problems. When she got engaged, I was genuinely happy for her. She even asked me to be her maid of honor. A week before the wedding, her fiancé called me. “Please, I need to ask you for a favor. I don’t want you to attend the wedding.” I thought he was joking. “What are you talking about? I’m her best friend.” “I know, and that’s exactly why I’m calling you privately. She doesn’t know I’m speaking to you.” I became uncomfortable. “Then why don’t you want me there?” He was silent for a few seconds before saying, “Because there’s something about your friendship that she hasn’t told me. I need you to answer one question honestly. Did you know she was still seeing another man when we started dating?” I was shocked.

She said she wanted an open relationship because she “wasn’t the jealous type.” I agreed. The first time I brought someone home, she was waiting in the living room. She didn’t get mad. She just looked at the girl and said, “You’re early. I told him to wait until I got here.” The girl looked confused. My girlfriend smiled at me. “You didn’t actually think this was about you, did you?”

THE MATRIX TRILOGY — CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN IT TO ME LIKE I'M 5 YEARS OLD? I've seen the films before, but it's been a long time. I've rewatched the first two films and will be watching the third one soon, followed by the new film in the cinema. But I'm very confused! I've been concentrating on the story and have even read a couple of articles and watched a YouTube video trying to explain it, but I'm still struggling to understand it. Here are the main things confusing me: 1. Neo's life at the beginning: Neo seems to be living a normal life, working in an office, etc. Is this life real? What exactly is happening? 2. Why do humans plug themselves into the Matrix? I understand that the Machines took over the Earth and essentially destroyed it, but why do they put humans inside the Matrix? What's the purpose of it? Why do people inside the Matrix fight the Agents? Who exactly are these Agents? 3. Who created the Matrix? Was it the Architect or the Machines? And why was it created in the first place? 4. The Agents and the Machines: Is there a connection between them? If so, what is it? 5. Zion and the real world: Is Zion located on Earth? Is the world outside the Matrix what Earth looks like now? Thank you in advance! Again, please explain it to me like I'm 5 years old.🤺

I actually did it, y’all! 😂 I went to Costco to grab a rotisserie chicken because, let’s be honest, you can’t leave Costco without one. Two guys were standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE CHICKENS, chatting away with their carts blocking everything. I didn’t even hesitate. I said, “Excuse me,” squeezed right between them, grabbed my chicken, and as I walked away, I added,

GOOD MUSIC IS THERAPY FOR THE SOUL. Sometimes, all you need is the right song to get you through a day you thought you couldn’t handle. If music isn’t part of your healing process, you’re missing out on one of life’s simplest pleasures. 🎧❤️
