Good things happen broadly when individuals pursue their own good in an honest way.

All right, back to my life. None of these idiots in Washington care about me or my family anyway. They only care about power.

No matter what happens on Tuesday, we will still have a shitshow in Washington, DC. Neither party has shown they give a damn about our unsustainable debt. Neither party truly opposes war - they just oppose the ones the other party supports. Government is not coming to save you. Take care of yourself and your family.

I don't care whether it's Hunter Biden or Donald Trump Jr. If your business model depends on people paying for access to your father, we've got a corruption problem. This shouldn't be a partisan position. But apparently Washington needs everything color-coded before deciding whether it's wrong.

In 1912, the federal income tax rate was zero. Everyone paid the same fair share. Zero.

Conservatives used to understand that not every national problem is a federal responsibility. Now every crisis apparently requires a presidential order, a new spending program or a trade restriction. The Constitution keeps getting smaller while Washington gets bigger.

Had a thought yesterday. "Resource poor" is the problem a country like Angola rich in resources ends up destitute because they don't focus on developing human capital. Reading a book extending that to the US with the idea of being "finance poor" where moving money distracts us from developing human capital to actually create wealth. The epiphany: "Digital poor" is developing the digital world (AI) at the expense of developing our human capital. Same outcome.

The Department of Education should be abolished immediately if there is a chance the communists are going to take over.

A pretty significant portion of this list consists of tiny islands and microstates. Then there's China and India.

Republicans spent decades teaching voters that tariffs are taxes, debt matters and presidents aren’t kings. None of those ideas became obsolete. The awkward part is explaining why they suddenly became negotiable once Republicans controlled Washington.

At some point we need to have a national conversation about divorce laws. I know of instances where women have committed infidelity, physical abuse, falsely claimed domestic violence (resulting in jail time), accused their husbands of child molestation, and earned not 50%, but even 90% or 100% of marital assets in divorce proceedings. Not to mention estrangement from children. One such case resulted in a suicide. I am happily married, luckily. But why would men get married when they know that the relationship is a ticking time bomb, and that their spouse can ruin them financially and reputationally (and throw them in prison), all with the consent and blessing of the legal system? The courts largely view women to be innocent in the eyes of the law. Women can be bad people, too, and the legal system needs to recognize that. @CHSommers
