Among patients with ischemic or nonischemic cardiomyopathy, left ventricular ejection fraction of 36% to 50%, and myocardial scar on #CardiovascularMagneticResonance, implantation of an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator did not significantly reduce sudden cardiac death or hemodynamically significant ventricular arrhythmia vs an implantable loop recorder. Rates of all-cause mortality, cardiovascular mortality, and heart failure–related hospitalization were also similar between groups. #ESCCongress ja.ma/4gvoZHO

We have limited knowledge about postop non-cardiac surgery AF. At WVU, using ICD code only 4% of 4100 truly have new AF suggested that big database is not clean. 1/4 had recurrent AF in 1 year and 0 in < 50 y. OSA and long AF predict recurrent. #epeeps rdcu.be/fq3bp

Understanding the basic of research is important in conducting a valid research. TrinetX is a good tool with it’s limitation. We need to be mindful and use it properly. “Medical students are using a popular research tool to pump out misleading studies” science.org/content/article/…
