Over the years, coaching conversations with CXOs, founders, and leaders have revealed something interesting.
The challenges hashtag#leaders bring into the room rarely begin with strategy. More often, they emerge from deeper questions around clarity, responsibility, and the inner stance from which leadership is practiced.
Those observations eventually led me to write Doing to Being: The Inner Journey of a Transformational Coach.
This book is not a manual on coaching techniques. Frameworks and competencies already exist in abundance. The book explores what often unfolds beyond technique.
It reflects on questions such as:
What lies beyond tools and methodologies in coaching?
How does a coach move from practicing coaching to embodying it?
How does hashtag#leadership evolve when awareness begins to guide action?
What happens when Coaching Quotient, Business Quotient, and Spiritual Quotient begin to integrate?
Many of these reflections also connect to a leadership lens I often discuss: hashtag#IQ2EQ2SQ.
Intelligence, emotional maturity, and deeper awareness must evolve together if leadership and coaching are to remain responsible and sustainable.
This book is an invitation to explore that inner journey.
If these reflections resonate with your own leadership or coaching practice, the book may offer a deeper exploration.

Replying to @ikigaibook
@ikigaibook author in aamchi Mumbai, seven years ago! Caught up briefly on the sidelines too.
A much-loved book in India, and a Japanese concept that resonates deeply with so many of us.
Perhaps the invitation now is to move from knowing to being, to live our Ikigai more intentionally, every day.
My book, #Doing2Being, draws inspiration from this wisdom too. 🙏
Thank you all for your reactions, reflections and encouragement. Deeply grateful!
As we head into the Diwali break, perhaps a wonderful opportunity to read, pause and reflect on #Doing2Being. Some readers are already on their second reading!
What began as a book on professional coaching has evolved into something much broader, a book for leaders, coaches and seekers. Grateful to NDTV Shopping for featuring it in their selection of personality-development books.
Yet, beneath all these dimensions runs a deeply spiritual thread. I can assure you of that!
You don't need to be religious, or even consider yourself spiritual, to connect with it. After all, aren't we spiritual beings having a human experience?
The journey from IQ to EQ to SQ. From performance to presence. From doing to being.
@Amazon's #GreatIndianFestival is another chance to pick up a copy or to gift one to someone on their own journey of growth. Doing to Being is available worldwide on Amazon.
Wishing everyone a joyous, peaceful and illuminating Diwali!
May we continue to learn, reflect and grow, moving from darkness to light, from doing to being.

The Festival of Lights is here too...
Yet for many professionals and leaders, there is a cloud of uncertainty at work. In these periods of uncertainty, what does it take to move towards the Light? 🪔
Perhaps the answer is not in seeking more certainty, but in developing greater clarity within.
From fear to courage. From confusion to clarity. From reacting to responding. From Doing to Being.
After all, we may not be able to control what lies ahead, but we can work on who we are becoming as we move forward.
Isn't that the deeper promise of transformational coaching?
Wishing everyone a Diwali filled with light, awareness and new possibilities.

CXOs and senior leaders are losing their jobs or living with the persistent fear of losing their jobs. This has consequences for them at every level - physical, mental, and emotional.
Many of us continue to define our self-image, and therefore our self-worth, by what we do professionally. Our careers are not merely a source of income and influence; they are central to our sense of identity.
Many senior professionals are affected today, including those at leading global brands. They were among the best: most attended top universities and worked hard to reach their positions.
In climbing the corporate ladder, many have neglected other important aspects of life:
- Relationships with others and with themselves
- Health and well-being
- Spiritual well-being
All of this has been at the expense of their careers.
We do not pause to reflect on our purpose in life. We may have forgotten our passions, why we chose our fields of study and work, and what once served as our guiding star.
The burden of EMIs, both literal and metaphorical, can prevent them from answering 'the call to adventure' on their hero's journey. (Joseph Campbell)
AI and technology are only part of the picture; geopolitics is another factor. A common shortcoming across organizations is LEADERSHIP.
P.S. Another group significantly affected comprises postgraduate students across nearly all fields, anxiously anticipating job placements, or the lack thereof.

This Navaratri, there was a new addition to the books we placed for puja. My own book, Doing to Being. 🙏
A dream that began almost 20 years ago, to become a published author, finally came true in 2026.
What began as a book on professional coaching has evolved into something more: a book for leaders, coaches and seekers. The learning continues, from writing a book to discovering what happens after it reaches readers.

Would love to hear your reflections. What has your own learning journey helped you become?

I am not surprised that Bihar Museum has been ranked ninth globally and first in Asia in Worth a Journey’s World’s 100 Best Museums 2026 list. It’s truly magical.
I had the opportunity to visit recently and was completely bowled over by its beautiful spaces, remarkable sculptures and the thoughtful way in which Bihar’s rich history and culture have been brought alive.
Walking through the galleries, I felt how beautifully a museum can connect us to our past and make history engaging, accessible and deeply personal. India deserves many more world-class museums, places where our extraordinary heritage can spark curiosity, inspire pride and nurture a love of learning for generations to come. A wonderful achievement for Bihar. Do visit and experience its magic in person.

Paris has the Louvre. New York has the Met. And Patna has a museum that has made it to the world’s top 10!
The Bihar Museum has secured the 9th spot in the 2026 list of the World’s 100 Best Museums, making it the highest-ranked museum in Asia and the only Indian museum on the list.
Opened in 2017, this architectural landmark brings Bihar’s rich history to life through ancient sculptures, rare coins, manuscripts and artefacts spanning centuries.
One of its most celebrated treasures is the Didarganj Yakshi, a remarkable Mauryan-era sculpture known for its distinctive polished finish and intricate craftsmanship.
From the Mauryan, Gupta and Pala periods to Buddhist and Jain heritage, its galleries preserve stories that have shaped India’s past.
With dedicated spaces for children, interactive learning and cultural exhibitions, the museum makes history accessible to a new generation.
Its galleries hold centuries of history. Now, its ninth-place ranking is giving the world another reason to discover Bihar.

“India was at the heart of global trade system of world trade….”
And long before that, our spiritual traditions explored consciousness, self-awareness and our interconnectedness, what we might today connect with Spiritual Quotient (SQ).
A must-watch. A reminder of our rich heritage, and an invitation to reconnect with its energy, wisdom and consciousness.
