The arrogance is staggering. Adam Habib, Ivor Blumenthal and Gareth van Onselen seem convinced they know whatโ€™s best for Black people better than Black people themselves. Black voters have agency, opinions and the right to choose their own political alliances.

All the people who attacked & couldn't wait for ActionSA to lose suburban votes are now losing their minds after the DA didn't get outright majority. It was a choice to give 35% to a party that bullies smaller parties in a coalition and voters were warned it was a wasted vote.

If they work with the anc jozi is fucked like it is now because itโ€™s what we currently have That will prove Herman is not in it for the city or citizens, itโ€™s all self gain

Your point is? Please keep giving us your projections of the DA like you did before elections. They were really entertaining, and we can do with some of that now

Shut up. Focus on the party you voted for! DA supporters are insufferable.
If Mashaba, Beaumont & Trollip have proven one thing with their comms the past 48hrs itโ€™s that they are entirely unsuitable for government. Iโ€™ve never before seen such a toxic mix of childish petulance, arrogance & bitterness in politicians. Give them another 5 years to grow up.

A DA lackey offering unsolicited advice on how ActionSA should conduct itself. Furthermore,ActionSA grew you aboslute weapon.
If Action SA is serious about growing and being taken seriously, it should consider replacing its current leader, Herman Mashaba. He's holding the party back because he lacks political maturity.

Thank you for giving it your best despite having to deal with a nasty bunch of people.

I was the Councillor candidate for ActionSA in Tshwane Ward 46. I put up a good fight, got called names, called a sell out. My posters were being ripped off, and homeless people admitted to being paid to rip my posters, and VF+ posters, off. This was only the beginning. The DA councillor candidate then parked her branded car inside the VD where the queue was passing. I addressed it and she got angry. Whats worse is, I then caught her talking to voters in the queue. She even followed some to the ballot boxes. The IEC said they saw nothing. After addressing these matters, I had people screaming at me and threatening me, telling me to watch my back, in the streets. When counting started, there was a man called Jordan who was running the whole thing. Pretty much telling the IEC how to do their job as he is 'experienced.' Now I saw that his profile Pic is with the IEC PO who was running the voting station where we were counting. Found out after that he works for Sarupen and his sole job, almost for the last 2 years, was to badmouth ActionSA. Constant smear campaigns. Why do they always get away with everything? They are corrupt, and think the law doesn't apply to them. Even the IEC is in on it. People are voting for them. What's worse is, black middle class is voting for them. How? Disgusting.

Mxm. You are about see a lot of these comments of how "ActionSA voters are unhappy" "ActionSA betrayed its voters". All because they want parties to roll the red carpet for the DA.
I wonder how many ActionSA voters are experiencing buyer's remorse? But I guess it depends on what they were voting for.

How about this ๐Ÿค”
Border control and immigration policy are National Government responsibilities. A municipality and/or Ward Councillor does not have any power to control our borders nor order deportations. The people of South Africa will soon discover that political parties which campaigned on those promises in the Local Government Elections promised powers that municipalities do not possess. All these dishonest parties simply played with the emotions and vulnerabilities of our people. Voting is done now. The question you must ask the party you voted for is; will they close the border? The answer is NO!

ActionSA might play a blinder here...how desperate are the ANC for another opportunity in Joburg? Granted there isn't another Dada Morero or a cadre that has a history of corruption. Desperate enough to hand Tshwane & Ekuhurleni to ActionSA?
ActionSA has concluded a productive and mutually respectful first engagement with the ANC in which we discussed principles around how stable and effective coalition governments could be formed. We remain committed to engaging all parties in such a manner.

I certainly hope ActionSA can play the long & patient game. We have learned the first coalition arrangement post election is not always the one that finishes its term.
Let me be clear, ActionSA's choices in coalitions: โœ…๏ธ Will be based on the best interests of residents of municipalities and the wishes of our constituents. โŒ๏ธ Won't be based on the patronising and arrogant insults of people and organisations that hate ActionSA.

News24 says its reliably informed ActionSA is offering two metros to keep Moya in Tshwane. Eish...ANC needs to get its act together and start dealing...in Ekuhurleni they can form a coalition without the DA. The DA getting to Joburg metros is a bad idea.
News24 Sunday reports the ANC is ready to go into opposition in Jhb, Tswane and Ekhuruleni after the party failed to get a majority. DA can form a majority with ActionSA and โ€œNews24 understands ActionSA is offer DA Jhb and Ekhuruleni, but on condition that Helen must goโ€

They will just remove one of their poor ward councillors and parachute them in through a by-election.
Mayor Dada Morero Deputy Mayor Loyiso Masuku MMC Eunice Mgcina, Development Planning have all lost their seats in the Johannesburg council. The ANC will have no PR councillors in Johannesburg.

What is happening in that ward. Initially it was given to ANC and then yesterday we heard a recount was done and then it was given to ActionSA. Then now are you saying another recount was done and then now given back to ANC? Wow.

Dear @HermanMashaba and @Action4SA , investing in patriotic and dedicated party agents is of paramount importance in elections, the @IECSouthAfrica voting system has many loop loopholes, in 2021 my younger brother was a party agent for ActionSA, their voting station was a School, and the IEC used 3 classrooms for voting, ActionSA had 3 party agents, the 2 left by 6PM , and could not wait for counting which normally happens very late into early mornings, this meant he could only be available for counting at the voting classroom he was a party agent at, when counting was done on all the 3 classrooms in that voting station, it was time to capture the final vote of that voting station, only for him to find out that ActionSA had 0-zero votes on the other classrooms which ActionSA had no party agents, he disputed this and call for a recount, the DA,EFF,IFP and ANC party agents said it was late, and yes the all counted and ActionSA had no votes in the other classrooms, he had to convince the IEC lady who was incharge of the voting station, and she agreed for a recount as per IEC regulations, only to find out that ActionSA did secure votes in the classrooms where the ActionSA party agents left before counting and was the 3rd biggest party in that voting station after the ANC and EFF, so yes political parties can agree to deprive another party of its votes and sign off the slips for a final capturing by the IEC official, these are some of the loopholes with this voting system!
BREAKING NEWS: After doing the recount in DA led Flora Park yesterday, ActionSA can confirm that the vote was rigged. ActionSA before recount 913. ActionSA after recount 1462. 549 of our votes recovered!!!๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

If this is true,as your credibility & the DA's is non-existent at this point, good for ActionSA. Also,if the DA considers replacing Helen Zille a red line when they'd still hold the mayoral chain--take your 35% to the opp bench like you did in 2021.
As I understand ASAโ€™s pre-conditions to negotiate with the DA: DA must resign its mayoral candidates in JHB and Tshwane, and replace them. Then it must make ASAโ€™s candidate mayor. So basically, they will not negotiate with the DA. That was quick.

DA supporters all in the comments complaining. You made your bed by giving 35% to a party who collapsed a working 2021 DA-ACTIONSA JHB coalition.
The cornerstone of coalitions must be ethical leaders who are trustworthy and honest... Lets not claim to be a victim when you are a perpetrator.
