"Protect your seeds & get back to the land. This is my advice. I do believe I will witness liberation in my lifetime!"
You asked me how I’m doing after three years of genocide in Gaza. My answer? I’ll be better when Palestine is free. 🇵🇸
In this Q&A with AJ+, I talk about the people I’ve lost, what keeps me going, and what the world can do to help. I still believe I’ll see a free Palestine in my lifetime. ❤️

from east gaza: “We live in constant fear & anxiety because at any moment you could find that yellow cube outside your home. Then you have no choice but to flee. But where do you go? Only about 30%of Gaza is currently accessible. It’s extremely overcrowded. There's nowhere to go"

In this picture, you see a Palestinian woman named Hadeel Al-Dahdouh. Her home was raided while she was safe with her husband and her child, who was only two years old.
They removed her hijab, placed her among men wearing only their underwear, and subjected them to severe beatings. They then dug a large pit and began burying the men alive.
When the sand reached her husband's face and he began to suffocate, she tried to remove the sand from his face to save him. They beat her so brutally that even men would struggle to endure such violence.
After that, they fired shots into the air, told her that her husband had been killed, and then released her. Today, she lives in Gaza, suffering from severe psychological trauma as a result of what she endured.
As for her husband, he was released after three months, having endured a journey of torment inside the prisons. Throughout that entire period, Hadeel lived with the agonizing belief that her husband had been killed, unaware that he was still alive.
Israel has committed filthy and savage crimes against Palestinians unlike anything the world has ever witnessed in the entire history of humanity.

Following an absolute farcical trial that makes a mockery of the rule of law, an Egyptian court has fined @Linaattalah LE 3 million and ordered the closure of @MadaMasr, Egypt's leading independent media outlet, relied on by the world's diplomats, researchers, and scholars.

Sometimes, home isn’t where we were born, but where we finally find a sense of belonging and peace. 🤍

Every Zionist in the comments keeps asking, “How could there have been a genocide if you survived and continued studying medicine?”
Have you never heard of online education?
First, we continued our studies online despite everything we were going through. Second, recently, we began attending university in person just one day a week, studying in metal container units after most of our university buildings were destroyed during the war.
Medical education in Gaza has continued through online lectures, temporary learning spaces, practical training in hospitals, and international remote support.
The fact that we are still studying does not mean there was no genocide or that life was normal. It means we are fighting to keep our future alive despite the destruction around us.

Everything I said starting a couple of weeks after October 7 that sounded paranoid, insane, demented, turned out to be overly optimistic.

Israel doesn’t want peace with anyone, they want land and resources and they’ll kill anyone and destroy anything that gets in their way.
I see that the Israelis failed to show the entire church in Qawzah. I took this photo a few days ago.

Regardless of which war criminal becomes prime minister, Palestinians living under Israeli apartheid will continue to face genocide, land theft, and erasure.
We cannot accept lies, excuses, or half-measures from our leaders. We must impose a full arms embargo and sanctions until Palestine is free.
i grew up moving around a lot & never had any sense of a geographical place that was "home."
i had to create that sense of "home" as an adult. the place i kept coming back to became "home." i think this is why i've turned from a globetrotter into a homebody.
Being displaced changes your relationship with places. I used to think of home as somewhere you could always return to.
Now I think about how much of home exists in your memory, and how painful it is when the physical place no longer matches it. I don't really know what to do with that thought.
It comes and goes.

Dominican Republic immigration officers raided a Haitian neighborhood in the middle of the night. Haitians make up ~90% of the DR’s agricultural workforce and 30% of its construction workers, under conditions that labor and legal experts have described as “indentured servitude.”

So flour and vegetable trucks are entering Gaza again, but not at a rate that meets the need. It's always the same: a trickle of everything, just enough to keep the crisis going and keep us busy with finding the most basic things.
It's the same loop we've been stuck in since the fake ceasefire announced in October 2025. No relief, no improvement in living conditions, and no thought of anything bigger that could actually improve our reality. And that's on top of countless other things, from the constant killing and shelling to the land grabs happening every day.

years ago, i spent a couple of years somewhere without plumbing or electricity where i handwashed all my clothes. it takes a lot of energy 👖👗🧦👚👚
I can’t believe it for the first time in four years, we washed our clothes in a washing machine.
Since the very first day of the war, throughout these four years, my mother and I have been washing all of our clothes by hand. Today, because I am very sick and my mother is exhausted, we were not able to do the washing, so we sent the clothes out to be washed for us for a fee.
It is a difficult feeling, and I know we probably will not be able to do this often. But I truly wish we could always wash our clothes in a washing machine. Washing everything by hand has exhausted our bodies and takes so much of our time.
