🤖 Made with AI
People should always be in control of the future. OpenAI is against the notion that it would be acceptable for people to be relegated to a role of doing things that “AI systems think makes sense to reward in humans”. People should not cede control of the future to superintelligence, and that requirement should ultimately constrain AI progress.

Elon Musk found us here. We’re indigenous to this land.
If people dislike Elon Musk so much, why do they still use the platform he owns?

ProPublica: Trump Appointees Wanted a Voting Machine Hacked A few months into President Donald Trump’s second term, political appointees at the Department of Homeland Security made an unusual request of its agency focused on cybersecurity: Secretly acquire a voting machine and hack it. The appointees wanted the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to procure the machine, examine it and report back the findings so they could be given to the White House, according to two former administration officials with knowledge of the request. propublica.org/article/cisa-…

It's not hard to work out the playbook here: acquire a widely used model of voting machine, hack it, and then one of three possibilities: – don't disclose the vulnerability until after the voting is done, creating pressure for votes cast using that model to be discarded as insecure; – disclose it just before the vote and demand that the machines not be used, throwing the election into chaos; – use the disclosure as justification for federal forces to physically seize the voting machines, with the same result. Whichever scenario they had in mind, it's possible, maybe even likely, that this represents preparation for events never seen before in a Western democracy. I'd be interested to know what @C_C_Krebs thinks about all this...
‼️ DHS political appointees asked CISA to secretly obtain a voting machine and hack it The findings were only to be shared with the White House, and the vendor was not to be told of any flaws CISA employees feared they were being asked to participate in political interference

Gavin - are you suggesting these are “vague MOUs” or “contracts”? Because they sure seem like the latter - those take or pay agreements that make up a large chunk of that $1 trillion you are so dismissive of! reuters.com/business/anthrop…
Ed, in what sense is a vague MOU with an endless number of outs for both parties a “promise?” Examples of promises: an LTA, a SCA, a “take or pay” contract, a fully funded datacenter project with external funding. All of those are contracts. A contract is a promise. Contracts are taken seriously. A vague MOU like many of the ones that were signed last year with Asian suppliers is neither a contract nor a promise. If those MOUs turn into contracts, they will be taken seriously.

I don’t think you have a dog in this fight but if you did you would have shot it.
I’ll take @ellalangleymsic over Kacey Musgraves any day. And if I’m choosin’ Texas, I’ll take Ken Paxton over James Talarico.

I was just thinking that airports would be 10x better if we added a bunch of people that dont need to be there.
JUST IN: TSA rolls out new program allowing people without plane tickets to enter airport gates to visit terminal restaurants & shops.

It’s honestly crazy that Trump could have sat back and rode the AI wave re-industrializing America and instead he did tariffs, tried to take over the Fed and started another war in the Middle East. Has there ever been a bigger own goal?

Mac search has been broken for 2 years, and nobody at Apple seems to care. - I open spotlight search - Type "calc" - Calculator appears - I hit return But in the 0.2 seconds before I hit return, it swaps to a random file with the word "calc" in it somewhere. And I open a file I didn't want. This happens to me every single day. Very unbecoming of a $5T company whose customers are still obsessed with its products.
