Oh, you're writing CUDA kernels? Everyone's on Triton now. Just kidding, we're all on Mojo. We're using cuTile. We're using ROCm. We have an in-house DSL compiler targeting the NVGPU MLIR dialect but wait, Tile IR just dropped so we're going to target that instead. Our PM is on TileLang. The team lead was on CuTe but now she's back to handwriting PTX. If you're not on Pallas, you're ngmi. Our intern is building on TT-Metalium for our Wormholes. Our CFO approved an order for some big chungus wafer-scale chips so now we're porting our kernels to CSL. Our CTO is working on a kernel-less graph compiler so we won't need to write kernels anymore. Our CEO thinks we're talking about the Linux kernel. We're building Claude for dogs.

you know you're having a normal one when you start writing a commit message that begins with "*record scratch* You're probably wondering how I got here..."
You jolt awake, your pillow drenched in sweat. It takes you a moment to register that you're in the safety of your home. The divorce has been taking a toll on you. For the past few months, you've been plagued by a recurring nightmare where Mitchell Hashimoto, author of Ghostty and co-founder of Hashicorp, ratios you on Twitter in front of your moots.
You check the time on your phone. 3:30am. You see a notification that makes your blood run cold.
Hashimoto jumpscare.
We usually don't get the best opps in Australia. But this is a damn good one. :-)
We don't usually hire. But we're hiring now.
Amp Labs in Sydney is looking for senior or staff-level engineers.

I sort of think it’s the opposite post LLMs. There’s so much mindless slop on GitHub that it’s difficult to figure out whether it signals anything. Before, if you found even a small project on someone’s profile, it’d be obvious that this person took some time to understand a particular area. Nowadays, the author quite possibly doesn’t even understand the basics of how their code works.

That's a good feeling though. You must be crushing it to have that many people looking after you. :-)

Some GoT stuff going on at your work atm.

A lot of people at the top of these orgs are extremely fucked up individuals. It’s a dog-eat-dog industry.

At this point, I just sit in a paddock with livestock and think about computers in abstract terms.
In HFT, there is massive upside.
With all these zero days coming in thick and fast, I suspect we're going to deeply regret this gimmick where modern devices have to always be "smart" and IoT by default.
