BAYC has come full circle Garga and Gordon were two regular dudes who built a club themed after a dive bar then prices went nuts and cringe celebs like Paris Hilton and Justin Bieber showed up and apes became a status symbol now it’s back to regular dudes hanging out and having a good time basically the original pitch and maybe the best version of the club

on some level you have to admire Yuga Abstract farmed us for 2 years promising a token and never delivered Yuga is burning millions every month on Otherside, ApeChain, and Clubhouse, with no clear revenue model in sight all because they said they would can't hate on that

I don't agree with the points about an ApeChain airdrop or buybacks, but there are a few points I agree with I think very few understand the actual history of what happened to ApeCoin DAO & ApeChain 👇 1) The BANANA team asked for 100M ApeCoin for an ecosystem fund, which was approved BANANA failed after spending 10s of millions of ApeCoin, let's assume they spent half of this 100M many BANANA team members crashed out and quit, some remained and came up with a new plan... 2) The same people behind BANANA decided to form ApeCo and the same group with the help of Garga pushed through an AIP to shut down the DAO, establish ApeCo, and take over the remaining BANANA funds + hijack the DAO treasury 3) After fully centralizing control the ApeCo team then spent a year doing dumb shit and wasting money, operating as a black box with zero insights into how the treasury they took over was managed, during their tenure ApeCoin crashed an additional -80% then ApeCo was disbanded and ApeChain tech and BD teams were rolled into Yuga I have no doubt in my mind that the price of ApeCoin would be higher right now if we had never voted for BANANA, and neither ApeChain nor ApeCo had ever existed. and that the BAYC community would have been much better stewards of the DAO treasury than what we got from BANANA or ApeCo A few points worth nothing 1) I have respect for many members of the ApeCo team. Some came directly from the BAYC community and worked their butts off. It's hard to blame them for ApeCo failing because by the time they joined the core was already so rotten there was nothing they could have done to turn things around 2) I don't think Otherside needs ApeChain to be successful, we're still years away from any meaningful user onboarding to justify having a dedicated chain. Arb stops fronting the bill about a year from now so this is when I expect they'll announce shutdown. 3) this is my last time posting about this topic, I've had these thoughts sitting in my head for a while, and I needed to get them out. if the GrailsOTC bot is bidding competitively, it may be bidding against the same collectors who wanted those apes directly so is this helping collectors access grails, or turning Yuga into the official middleman? probably more good than bad, but TBD
