Kentucky residents played a loud recording of the noise pollution from data centers to show its disruptive impact.
Within seconds, county officials grew irritated and told them to “act like adults” and turn it off.
The corrupt politicians who vote for and push these data centers onto our communities couldn’t handle the piercing sound for a few seconds, yet expect residents to live with it every day.
Welcome to the USA, where politicians prioritize the bottom line of the corporations and billionaires that fund their campaigns over the needs of our people and communities.

Freedom of speech is wonderful 😃. The world needs @Lagarde unleashed. Thank you for your innumerable years of public service.
I will be leaving the @ECB in February 2027 because I want to have the freedom of speech, the freedom of expression, and the freedom to engage on matters that are not monetary policy matters.

A Blue Jay with Fall colors. I have been trying to get a photo of a Blue Jay against the Fall foliage for a month, but they have been constantly on the move while gathering and hiding acorns.

When I think of Patrick Stewart, it's not Captain Picard or Professor X that springs to mind. It's this quote.
May he rest in peace.

I saw another stunning Red-bellied Woopecker, framed by some of Central Park's fall foliage. I never noticed the red blush just over the beak! ❤️❤️❤️ #Woodpecker #CentralPark #birdcpp

Sir Patrick Stewart once ran into Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr at the same Los Angeles restaurant! His hilarious Graham Norton story reaches all the way back to meeting Paul in 1964. zurl.co/ULnon

Remembering this and other anecdotes in Patrick Stewart's memoir. RIP.
A delightful anecdote in @SirPatStew’s new memoir, from his time filming DUNE (1984).
It is a joy to listen to him...he is missed

I find the large amounts of private money funding US Presidential campaigns well and truly disgusting. A system that is well and truly messed up.

There is something incredibly interesting happening right now in Democratic politics and it’s how men connect masculinity to fatherhood. It cuts through our politics’ harshness and the idea that masculinity is all bulging biceps.
I wrote about that here: washingtonpost.com/politics/…

The reason Italy and France build infrastructure so cheaply is that 80% of the planning, design and project management is done in house. When I was a consultant, my company was charging more than 3x my salary for my work. Can we please get serious about project delivery as a country?
Breaking News: The chief executive of California’s High-Speed Rail Authority has abruptly resigned after a recent state report that found that the agency had misused nearly $600,000 to pay for the travel of consultants. This is a developing story. nyti.ms/4zoacHi
