Hasan Piker agrees:
"I have never seen this kind of talent coming from the Democratic Party in every fucking state, in every district, in every locality, up and down the motherfucking ballot.
Everyone did the exact things they were supposed to do. They were left populist in their rhetoric. They hyper-focused on the economy. The candidate selection this time around was phenomenal.
Just as Donald Trump changed the Republican Party in his own image, I think Bernie Sanders was able to change the Democratic Party in his image. Donald Trump did it through victory, Bernie did it in spite of his defeat. He might have lost the battle but he is winning the war."
Bernie Sanders lost the fight in 2016. A decade later, he won the war.
Sandersβ brand of laser-focused economic populism trounced MAGA this week β winning not just with El-Sayed in Michigan, but Talaricoβs in Texas and other red states.
Bernie isnβt surprised.
βNo, I am not shocked,β he told me. βItβs what Iβve always believed.β

In America, you can be the son of a single mom who survived for many months on Medicaid and food stamps, who worked for many years at McDonald's, and you can go on to become a member of Congress.
Colorado, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I'll work hard to make you proud.

A year ago, I said Mississippi and Louisiana could be competitive with real investment. Turns out, I was right.
Now the country is talking about @scott_colom in Mississippi, while @jamieforlouisiana came within 25,000 votes in Louisiana.
I made the case directly to DNC Chair Ken Martin in April, after raising the same concerns on @joyannreid.
The Deep South doesnβt lack voters. It lacks investment.
Maybe itβs time national leadership started listening to Black folks on the ground who know what theyβre talking about.

Raskin: This meaningless false dichotomy comes from the media, which is: Are you going to do accountability or are you going to do affordability? As if they were in any way different from each other.
If Think about the French monarchy and when Marie Antoinette says, Let them eat cake. Is that a problem for the people of accountability, or is it a problem of affordability? Itβs the exact same thing. Itβs government in the interest of a tiny group of people, so nobody can afford to buy their bread. And so when the monarchy says, Let them eat cake, that is a statement of what the priorities are of a tiny privileged few who serve oligarchs and nobles and so on, and not the vast majority of the American people.
I mean, the American Revolution began with the Boston Tea Party because the East India Company, which was this chartered, bloated corporation from the Crown, had decided that they should get tax advantages for the importation of tea that the colonists could not get.
Now, is that a problem of corruption and authoritarianism and tyranny, or is it a problem of affordability and the cost of living? Itβs the exact same thing, and itβs the same with us, right?
So whatβs the main dramatic price increase people have been complaining about? Well, itβs gasoline, which is up $1.50 a gallon since before the Iran War started, right? In some places, itβs still $4.50, $4.60 right now. Diesel is up to, I think, $6.70.
Is that a problem of affordability or accountability? Affordability or corruption? Well, letβs see. The person who was supposed to be negotiating with Iran was centrally involved with the Donald Trump team in destroying the JCPOA. Jared Kushner was very involved in taking down the nuclear agreement that kept Iran, for at least more than a decade, from investing in any nuclear development.
And then Trump came in and wanted above all to destroy that. Well, who else had an agenda of trying to destroy that so the lack of a nuclear agreement could be used as a pretext for war? Well, Iranβs principal enemies in the regionβSaudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Israelβall of those countries targeted Iran. They wanted that nuclear agreement to go away, and it was working. Great. There were all kinds of investigative enforcement mechanisms that were taking place, and it was working fine, and they wanted to tear it down.
Then the lack of that agreement became the justification for this illegal, unconstitutional war, never declared by Congress, that has cost the American people more than, I think, $55 or $60 billion at this point and cost dozens of American lives. I donβt even know how many thousands of Iranians now, but certainly more than a thousand Iranians, as a girlsβ boarding school was destroyed on the first day of the war.

After getting destroyed in the midterms, Trump has not changed his priorities even a little.
βLook, the Oval Office is a place of victory. It's a place of prestige, like the White House.
If you would have looked β see that beautiful white wall? There's no gold in that. But I fixed all of the monuments. I fixed all of the borders. You have borderline β borders, and you have broken windows. We had broken windows. There were cracks in many windows.
You'd look up, you'd see a crack in a window. This is representative of our nation. And I think β to me, maybe more than it was. Between the Capitol, the White House, maybe a few others, Supreme Court building.
But to me, the White House is so important. If you looked at that wall β if you looked at that wall one year ago, it was badly damaged. From years of service, it was badly damaged, with cracks, broken stone all over the place.
The borders β the borders up on top, they were all broken. They call them monuments β the figures on the sides. You'd have a window with one broken, one not broken. So we made a mold of the one that was not broken and placed it very carefully. And then it's been resurfaced.
So β because the surface was falling off. It was falling off. The columns outside, you can take a look at them. They're all beautiful. They were all in horrible shape. You know, from being beaten up over hundreds of years, actually, being β they would get beat up.
And the building was beat up, and it was a shame. And I fixed it. And I do it very easily. I don't β I didn't devote time to it, a lot of time. I just had β I have very talented people that were able to do it. I paid for it. And we fixed up the exterior of the White House.
There's no gold, but there's no cracks. There's no broken stone. They have beautiful ornamentation on it. Original, from 1792, when it was built. But much of it was broken. It was either broken or gone. And in many cases, you'd have it on one side of a window.
And on the other side, there was nothing there because it had fallen. You'd see the holes. You'd see the metal that held it from all these years. And it was many years. And I said, We got to fix it.
So because I did that, I get criticized. Oh, isn't it terrible? I view the White House as a very important symbol of our country. And we can't have broken windows. We can't have broken stone. I mean, they'd have a big hole in the stone, a gaping hole this deep. And instead of fixing it beautifully that you can't even see it, they'd just paint it.
People would look up and say, This is the White House. It's so inappropriate. So I devoted very little time to it. The ballroom is going to be the most β the best in the β in the entire world. Even President Xi of China, he said, Wow, that's going to be something. And he has the Great Hall of China, which is quite nice, I must tell you.
But we didn't have a place. So 150 years. And then we have a big military component β drones on top and five stories underneath of all the military stuff. That was supposed to be top secret until I got sued by a group of people that are very bad for our country.
We asked them not to sue because then people will see the under β when you sue, they see what you're building. We built five stories underneath that ballroom. And it's going to be great.
But when you look at that White House β you know, I hear Obama, but he doesn't β Obama doesn't know about dirt and filth, and he doesn't know about cracked stone, and he doesn't know about broken windows. He's probably fine with them, but I'm not. I'm not fine with them.β
