This morning I was woken by 2 of Durham Regions' finest who were sent out by @TorontoPolice to enquire if I did in fact send a "suspicious substance" to the Premier of Ontario.
They were referring to the 2 packets of gravy that I had sent to the Premier's office. I told them that I had even called to tell them that I was sending them and for them to expect a lot of gravy from angry citizens of this province. I also told them that I had enclosed a letter explaining why I had sent the gravy and I did in fact put my return address on the outside of the envelope.
They asked me why I sent it. I told them because Ford lied to us. We just wanted to send him gravy for his #GravyTrain.
They wanted to know which app I was on where the gravy idea came from. I told them Twitter. They thought that is was Reddit.
They asked for my Twitter name. I complied and gave it.
They then asked me for names. Well, I didn't give them any names. That is one thing that I do not do. I may send gravy mix to the Premier; but, I don't name names. I am not a Rat.
So, if you sent gravy to the Premier's office, don't be surprised if you get a visit.
What got me is that when the gravy arrived at his office, @TorontoPolice were called in. I was told that our little Gravy Train rebellion tied up a lot of important Police Resources and they were not happy. I was thinking that they tied up resources again by sending not one, but two officers to my door.
And who says that being 70 years old is dull?

Hey @bnaibrithcanada, Jews here. The ones that you have decided are “fringe.” We are a growing share of Jewish Canadians who are horrified at the genocide in Gaza & who stand with @tdsb Palestinian parents & students looking for it to acknowledge & address anti-Palestinian racism
The @tdsb has chosen to deny the grassroots Jewish community the ability to present their concerns at an upcoming Committee meeting that will be exploring changes to its Combatting Hate and Racism Strategy. Of concern is the proposed addition of Anti-Palestinian Racism. Such a change would have a detrimental impact on Jewish students, faculty, staff, and their allies.
Palestinian and Jewish identities can and must coexist in Canada. Jewish identity cannot thrive in Canada if it is perceived as a source of racism, specifically Anti-Palestinian Racism.
The Board has accepted submissions from fringe organizations whose views do not represent the majority of the Jewish community and has failed to apprise itself of the opinion of the grassroots Jewish community. B'nai Brith remains committed to ensuring that the needs and desires of Toronto's Jewish community are recognized and understood.

So much of UofT’s statements these days are infuriating but this morning I’m particularly annoyed by their doubling down on the idea that “peaceful protests don’t include encampments”???
Even a BASIC understanding of social movements would show you how ahistorical that is.
