Some African parents are so obsessed with raising perfect daughters that they forget they have sons to raise too. Then we wonder why so many men grow up without knowing how to behave.
I have a neighbour with two children, a girl who is about 13 and a boy who is around 7 or 8.
Whenever this woman gets home, it’s almost always the same thing. She’s shouting at the girl, scolding her, or beating her over one thing or another. And I mean serious beating!
But I have never heard this woman shout at the boy, not even once.
Does this boy never do anything wrong? Or is his sister the only child who needs discipline?
This is one of the problems with how some parents raise their children. They put so much pressure on their daughters to be well behaved, responsible, and perfect, while their sons are allowed to get away with things their sisters would be punished for.
You cannot raise daughters to be responsible women while neglecting to teach your sons to be responsible men.

HIV did not start as a human virus.
It came from a similar virus in chimpanzees in Central Africa. Hunters were exposed through blood while handling infected animals, and the virus crossed into humans. That jump is believed to have happened in the early 1900s.
From there it spread slowly through travel, untreated infections, and limited medical screening at the time. By the time the world noticed it in the 1980s, it had already moved.
HIV is not a punishment, a curse, or something that appeared because of one group of people. It is a virus that crossed species, then found human networks.
Knowing the origin does not change the present. Testing, treatment, and protection still do.

In all of this Toluwanisings Journey to eternal rest, help me say a word of prayer to Minister BBO. Since the demise of his dear friend, BBO has been drawing strength in silence 😭😢. I think I briefly saw him in one of the videos during the Night of Tribute but he’s just on guard. The pain of loosing one’s friend is heartbreaking💔💔❤️🩹
