Following my previous Tweets (attached) and chat with @RAIL and others, I have put together a quick ‘Then & Now’ collection. Google street view gets the ‘Now’ locations near enough... Near the German Gym at Kings Cross (1 of 2)
Following earlier tweets from @RAIL and @pipdunn about Kings Cross in the bad old days, I’ve quickly taken photos of some of my slides taken in 1991 & 92: Batch 1 of 5 (1991)

Cuba has decided not to change the clocks this autumn, so will be GMT -4 hours until this time next year. To be honest I wish the world would abandon clock changes. They get very confusing, especially the UK / NZ difference which varies +11, +12, +13 😆

Brilliant!
Patrick Stewart was once filmed dancing and singing on the bridge of the USS Enterprise-D in 1991 as a birthday surprise for Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. Though never intended for public release, a copy of the clip eventually surfaced as a bonus feature on a DVD. Rest in peace 🙏

My 18yo daughter has just complimented me in my taste in music. I’m not sure if it was the record which I have just put on, or Pink Floyd “Wish You Were Here” which was playing (pretty loudly) whilst I was cooking dinner. @railnigel @SRichardBowker (1/2)

NOTE: “Wish You Were Here” lasts for the exact same time needed to prepare and cook Chilli-con-Carne. Dire Straits “Telegraph Road” is also a great timer for cooking spaghetti! (2/2)

The nice new waiting shelter on platform 1 at Lewes is now open, matching the one on platform 2 @SouthernRailUK

The clocks go back by one hour on 25 October at 2am, which means you’ll gain an hour ⏰ What will you do with the extra time? Let us know below 👇

The new waiting shelter on platform 1 at Lewes is coming along nicely, to match the one on platform 2. Not long before it opens, I guess @SouthernRailUK

Whilst waiting for my train at Lewes this morning, I couldn’t miss the opportunity of visiting the The Runaway café on platform 2. Freshly made bacon sandwich and a proper cup of tea made in a pot with leaf tea, not bags. A cheeky portion of homemade bread pudding to finish!

40 years! Where did that go? On 1st September 1986 I walked into Selhurst Apprentice Training School - my first day on the railway. Today I popped in to mark the occasion. It is now a driver training centre but the buildings are still there. No more lathes or milling machines!

Travelling on the newly rebuilt Up line out of Lewes. Thanks @SouthernRailUK and @NetworkRailSE (No photo of the small gesture - I ate it!) – at Lewes, England
