Tom Lucente

Had the best experience with @AlaskaAir. Absolutely every human & digital interaction was efficient, helpful, and positive. Air travel is stressful. The people of Alaska Airlines clearly understand that—and respond accordingly. Thanks to all.

Today we said goodbye to my dear mother with words and music of love—and this little video from the heart. “Audrey Lorraine Lucente passed peacefully at the age of 100 on December 11, 2022. Born and raised in San Jose, she graduated from San... tmblr.co/Z4dR8wdBO_doam00

The best part of thinning-out an increasingly unwieldy music collection? Choosing the @amoebamusic store credit—and the treasures that come with it. Especially excited to hear the Lars Gullin and read the @tedgioia.

Sure, I miss my dad on #FathersDay—but only because I miss him every day. Louis P. "Hank" Lucente 20 February 1922 - 20 November 2017

The Beatles are the #Beatles, so @SIRIUSXM's annual "All Together Now" is a satisfyingly familiar journey. With @MJMcKean as 2022 host, it's an edifyingly fresh story...told one 45-rpm side at a time.

Today would have been my father's 100th birthday; he passed in 2017. I miss him more than ever. (Photographed circa 1955 with my older sister, also born on February 20th.) #100

Thank you, @DanaCanedy, for sharing your powerful story: Reliving the Pain (and Joy, Too) of My Deepest Love Onscreen nytimes.com/2021/12/22/movie…

Thanks to @Jan_Ransom & @karenzraick for their detailed reporting on this horribly bleak story. Autistic? Childlike? Sexual offender? Trauma victim? Malcolm Boatwright was all those things. Now he's dead at 28. nytimes.com/2021/12/10/nyreg…

I read this smart, well-crafted review while streaming the MQA-version of the live recording on @Tidal. "A roaring polyrhythmic machine," indeed.

Gonna be a long, cold winter for that @MLBUA crew.

While stopped at a red light this afternoon, I noticed a pedestrian reading "Ogilvy On #Advertising" as he waited to cross the street. Instantly, instinctively, I lowered the passenger-side window and bellowed, "You need to read Bernbach!" Sure hope I saved him in time.

Bought four used #jazz CDs today. Nothing different there. Except, randomly, two of the discs (a 1987 pressing of Stanley Turrentine's #BlueNote debut, "Look Out!," and a 1999 stereo remaster of Howard McGhee's "Dusty Blue") were recorded five days apart—61 years ago!

I'm a big fan of the food at @starbirdchicken, but their online ordering experience is absolutely the worst. Makes me never want to order from them again. Past time to replace that finicky @Olo-based online ordering system before more customers leave in disgust.

Album #collection milestone reached: 4,000 and counting. (Clearly, the line between hobby and lunacy is paper thin.) #discogs #musiccollection #albumcollection #cdcollection instagram.com/p/CP4PG5ChL-fF…
