I'd suggest "Begin The Beguine," a '93 collection on the ASV label, for the clarity of its transfers. But other releases capture the "King of the Clarinet" in unique groups/concepts—including two different big bands with strings ('36-37 and '40) and a bebop-tinged outfit ('49).
Got to give this one to #MilesDavis. In just 2 days (May 11 & October 26, 1956) his first great quintet (with Coltrane, Garland, Chambers, and Jones) recorded enough material for what would become four timeless Prestige classics: Cookin', Relaxin', Workin', and Steamin'.

Revolver Bar in Seattle has a great vibe.
The best part of thinning-out an increasingly unwieldy music collection? Choosing the @amoebamusic store credit—and the treasures that come with it. Especially excited to hear the Lars Gullin and read the @tedgioia.
Sure, I miss my dad on #FathersDay—but only because I miss him every day.

Thanks for that! Never knew Hawk's modernists beat Bird and Dizzy to the coast.
Today would have been my father's 100th birthday; he passed in 2017. I miss him more than ever. (Photographed circa 1955 with my older sister, also born on February 20th.) #100
