If only Haley Stevens had tried shooting up a preschool in Detroit, then Abdul El Sayed would stop attacking her so much.

If, God forbid, Abdul loses, this will be a watershed moment in Democratic politics. The fire will rise. It's over. People will be radicalized against corporate, pro-Israel Dems. There will be a reckoning. If, when, he wins, it will be a watershed moment. And that reckoning will still come.

The Bulwarkians doing “golly I don’t understand why a moderate Democrat wouldn’t support an Islamist who campaigns with Commies, who I proudly support” is as hilarious as it is pathetic. When you’re deeper in the tank for radical leftists than several prominent elected Democrats are, just drop the facade.

Well you see, an El-Sayed campaign surrogate put out an ad blaming the Jews for the cost of groceries, and she wasn't okay with that one and the candidate your Dem GOTV op website is all in for was okay with it Happy to clarify that one for you.

The only question remains is whether @BulwarkOnline will eventually represent the Sunni or Shia faction of dems.
The dem's messaging arm and its base are in great places right now.

It has been quite extraordinary to see “Your tears say more than real evidence ever could” become essentially the default position

Re the Sey case: There are many people who just can't imagine why laws seem so cruel. It's because every attempt to code kindness and compassion into the legal system will be exploited by people like this.

Its job is very much to get Democrats elected and the readership outrage over the reporting on the Alaska Senate race proves it.
NYT again tries to explain to its aggrieved readers what a newspaper is and what it is supposed to do. Hint: Its job isn't to get Democrats elected, even in the Trump era nytimes.com/2026/10/31/insid…

Haley Stevens was going to do a Democratic unity rally with Abdul El-Sayed and James Clyburn where she was going to encourage her supporters, many of whom have serious reservations about El-Sayed, to vote for him. This was very important for El-Sayed, because Stevens is popular among Jewish and black Michigan Democrats and Clyburn is an icon among black voters nationwide. El-Sayed has weakness with both of these groups and needs to shore them up going into election day. Stevens's condition was that he make an unambiguous, unqualified condemnation of the antisemitic rhetoric his friends, supporters and surrogates have been using, including in ads run in Michigan. El-Sayed refused to do this, and instead asked Stevens not to appear at the event. At that point, Stevens realized that he was not interested in unity with her or her supporters and that she could no longer support him for Senate. El-Sayed is an antisemite. He is friends with antisemites Hasan Piker and Cenk Uygur. He will not condemn them. He will not condemn the awful things they say. He has had multiple opportunities to condemn their hateful rhetoric, and he always says: "He is not part of a campaign, nobody speaks for me but me, and I'm not here to talk about that." That's not good enough. If that is how a Republican talked about Nick Fuentes or Richard Spencer, it would be the biggest controversy in the race. The fact that so many Democrats are willing to tolerate this from Abdul El-Sayed is an indictment of the entire party. There is no coalition that can include both the Jewish Democratic members of Temple Israel and supporters of the Hezbollah terrorist who tried to murder their preschool children. Abdul El-Sayed made a decision about who he wanted in his tent. Haley Stevens was late to realize it, but it is admirable that she finally decided to be an upstander instead of a bystander. No Nazis in the US Senate.
Genuinely struggling even to construct a theory of mind for this beyond "Abdul told me not to come to his campaign event so fuck him." None of the Hasan Piker stuff is even remotely new!

If the *our democracy* people really wanted to shore up public faith in election processes they could take basic measures that even third world countries are capable of including reporting election results the same day and taking non citizens off the voter rolls.

When the supposedly centrist lib encounters actual centrist decision
I think Haley Stevens has deluded herself into believing she’s some kind of beloved figure with a large following rather than someone a lot of partisan Dems rallied behind after McMorrow stumbled because they worried about potentially losing the seat.

The anti-Trump peeps aren't exactly bright.
My student loans were taken out based on generous income based repayment plans with monthly payments of around $500. Now thanks to Trump killing off the SAVE plan for no reason but he hated Biden it will be ballooning to $1400 a month and will end up at 4Xs the loan amounts. How do I sue for breech of contract??
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Contrary to the post, loans predate SAVE (created 2023; PhD 2015) & were under prior IDR plans at lower income then. SAVE vacated by Mar 2026 court order after litigation/settlement, not Trump alone. studentaid.gov/courtactions studentaid.gov/articles/save/ socialsciences.uoregon.edu/political-scie… Screenshot shows new RAP payments.

The intra-party fight between The Bulwark and the Assorted Hasans is one of messaging, not voting. They’re both voting for the Hamas guy, it’s just that Bulwark wants him to lie about this issue to get elected and the Hasans want him to embrace it.
