Nepal's PM Balen Shah:
We have built a world with flawless logistics for war and broken logistics for food.
And this is not Nepal’s private misfortune. Ask Bangladesh, ask Bhutan, ask India, ask the Maldives, ask Pakistan, ask Sri Lanka, ask any other country in our region and you’ll hear the same account.
Hit by the climate we did not warm and again hit by the wars we did not start.

Getting sick and tired of this couch phrasing we see everywhere in corporate life.
No one has to be rude, but articulating the reality in a clear manner should be fundamental 😔

The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.

This is why I'm glad Sri Lanka has managed to push these labels through, despite manufacturer opposition. Every day it saves me from picking up attractively packaged garbage.
A can of Fanta sold in London has 63 calories. Buy the same brand in India, and it contains three times as much sugar. It also includes artificial dye, whose presence in food products in Europe requires a prominent health warning.
In India, the colorant’s presence is noted merely in small print on the back of the can. That suits some of the world’s biggest companies, which have long resisted Indian efforts to mandate nutritional warnings on the front of packaged products reut.rs/4wOp5QT
