Insanely PROUD to share our new collaborative project with @Dey_Gautam & @CentrioleLab. #PlanExM
We think (almost certain) #Expansion #Microscopy (#UExM) is a turning point for #Protistology and #Cell Biology.

Its out !!! 🥳
Very proud to announce that my PhD work is now published in Nature communication: nature.com/articles/s41467-0…
We developed #iUExM, an optimized iterative expansion protocol allowing 16 to 26 fold homogeneous expansion together with specific bright labelling !

Excited to announce the publication of our latest paper "CCDC15 localizes to the centriole inner scaffold and controls centriole length and integrity" in @JCellBiol! Congratulations to all contributing authors from my lab and our collaborators @CentrioleLab.
#Centrioles are vital for cell functionality. @ArslanhanMelis @CytoLabKoc et al. highlight CCDC15 as a new member of the centriole inner scaffold essential for centriole size & integrity, furthering our understanding of centriole-related pathologies. bit.ly/3QrlTaD

Our protocol for #Chlamy #UExM, first published looking at IFT assembly with @bengeliscious, is out. We highlight fixation options to look at different compartments, such as the chloroplast. Special props to @umutbatmann for his stunning images, including the cover!
🔬 Our @GaiaPigino @nikolai_klena & G. Maltinti with @CentrioleLab from @unige_en developed an #ExM-based protocol to visualise the 3D ultrastructural organisation of #Chlamy.
✌️ Published in @bioprotocolbyte and available now to the research community

Thrilled to present my PhD work about the development of #iUExM 🥳
Here, we introduce an optimized versatile protocol using iterative expansion to reach #SMLM resolution on conventional widefield or confocal fluorescence microscopes on cells & tissues.

Our study with @CentrioleLab @GaiaPigino on the Chlamydomonas ciliary base is online @ScienceMagazine: science.org/doi/10.1126/scie…
We combined #CryoET🔬 with #UExM🔬 to:
1⃣ Reveal the structure of the transition zone (movie👇)
2⃣ Observe the assembly of IFT trains (next tweet)

New paper alert!! Our work on dissection of the non-ciliary CCDC66 functions is now published in @PLOSBiology. This is our second paper in PLOS Biology and second time around, we had a great editorial experience. We also thank the reviewers for their constructive comments. – at Geneva, Switzerland
The ciliopathy-linked protein CCDC66 is only known for its ciliary functions. A new study in #PLOSBiology reveals that CCDC66 also has extensive non-ciliary functions in regulating #mitosis and #cytokinesis @CytoLabKoc plos.io/3yOwzY8

Finally, using PACT fusion of CCDC66 for rescue experiments, we showed that microtubule localization of CCDC66 is essential for organization of K-fibers and central spindle microtubules as well as cytokinesis! I tried to summarize our findings in this model 👇
