NC Rep. Moore and Sen. Berger are trying to change the N.C. board of elections to block the governor from doing his job. Voters rejected it in 2018. Moore and Berger are appealing this: ncnewsline.com/briefs/nc-gop… #ncpol

An incredible showing by Lula tonight. He proved every pollster and doubter wrong. And this is an important point: The margin of victory is so big that the controversy over the polling hours becomes far less relevant. He would’ve won if they closed an hour early.
Lula wins, and it wasn’t particularly close — 3.5% or more than 4 million votes. It’s an epic comeback and we will need time to fully understand it. But one thing is clear — the extension in voting hours was not the difference maker in this race.

Journalists, you've not plunged into a nest of cobras until you've reported on the NC Division of Marine Fisheries. Ditto the Marine Fisheries Commission. Questioning my life choices at this moment.

In newly released campaign finance reports, we've learned that Duke Energy contributed $100,000 to the effort to overthrow last year's state supreme court election in North Carolina. And it was completely legal for them to do so, all because a group of lawmakers in our state legislature moved fast to change the law to make it legal.

I hold little hope this'll get heard by NC's congress members even on this platform. But it's a fact that public health in the South was partly to make future soldiers healthy enough to serve. This point should land with @RepRichHudson #ncpol

Medicaid expansion has been tremendously positive for North Carolina. It has genuinely saved lives. But now, the US Senate is rushing to pass a bill that would kill Medicaid expansion in North Carolina. This is about people’s lives, not politics. #ncpol #ncga

There’s no realistic scenario where the benefits (above the line) expire in 4 years or the pay fors (below line) are enacted in future. It's wrong to say this is a $3 tln tax cut for the wealthy paid in part by cutting benefits. In reality, it's just $6+ tln of unfunded tax cuts.

I respect Senator Tillis’s decision to end his career in the Senate when he felt the time was right. I also appreciate that he was willing to vote against last night’s budget bill - even though it ran against his political interests - because it would cause serious and lasting harm to North Carolina’s families and economy. I saw that he spoke about having the pure freedom to call balls and strikes over the next 18 months, and I genuinely look forward to that. It’s the approach that will serve North Carolina best and I’m glad to see that’s how he sees his mission with his remaining time in the Senate.
