Lowering speed limits means not just new signs and new procedures, but also design changes so that going slower feels natural Tree canopy, improved crosswalks, chicanes, curb extensions, and bioswales should all be part of slower designs for safety

Safe streets for all means a person biking should be able to get around without fear of traffic violence. Safe streets for all means BIPOC should be able to get around without fear of police violence. When we say safe streets for everyone, it's safer roads and so much more, too.

The "penalty" for jaywalking should never be death—and in a just society, crossing the street when your government has failed to provide you with a suitable crosswalk would not even be a crime. @TxDOT is behind this ad, but we need to hold our whole car culture accountable.

Get rid of one lane each way and put a buffer between the street and sidewalk. Walking on a 4 foot wide strip between 50+ mph traffic on one side and an 8 foot on the other is the worst.

1yr ago #AhmaudArbery was killed by 3 white men while jogging. As transpo advocates we must constantly be talking about the realities Black ppl face when walking, jogging etc. Safe streets aren’t safe if we are not simultaneously challenging racism and white supremacy as well
