Behind every number is a family, a mother caring for a sick child at home, or a health worker who didnโt come back from a shift. 10,172 confirmed cases. 4,932 lives lost.
โWe are not winning so far.โ โ said H.E. Dr Jean Kaseya at yesterdayโs Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting on Ebola.
The room responded. Ministers agreed to get every country ready, to work hand in hand across borders and to keep those borders open while watching them closely. Partners stepped up behind Africaโs plan.
Because Ebola anywhere in Africa demands preparedness everywhere in Africa.

Messrs. @WilliamsRuto, @MusaliaMudavadi and @SingoeiAKorir are badly mismanaging Kenyaโs foreign affairs.
How can an African country publicly support UAEโs candidate for Secretary General of the @UN when there are 2 Africans vying for the same position, yet expect other African countries to vote for Kenyan candidates for other global positions?
The UAE has become Zionist Israelโs errand boy in the Middle East. It had committed atrocities in Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Iran and Somalia.
Support for the UAE is a vote for Zionism.
Why is Kenya not supporting Ugandaโs @Olara_Otunnu?
One cannot shout โPan-Africanโ and demand respect from non-African countries, then coil up and behave like indentured slaves.
Why couldnโt Kenya even support the Barbadosโ candidate?
How much has the UAE paid our mandarins?
Telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

The #Ebola cases in Kenya and Nigeria highlight the need for a coordinated, continent-wide response. African governments, @AfricaCDC and regional bodies should strengthen cross-border surveillance, accelerate testing, secure sustainable financing and build community trust to contain the outbreak at its source. Africa cannot afford fragmented responses to cross-border health threats. Collective action, adequate resources and rapid response are critical to protecting lives and strengthening health security.

#Ebola virus is deadly. Early detection is essential to stop community transmission and infections. Consistent community sensitisation ensures everyone knows the signs, symptoms, and prevention methods. Strong communities are our first line of defense.
#Ebola continues to spread in the DRC and Kenya, raising concerns across Africa. Prompt action is key to preventing escalation. As @daktari1 notes, every index case starts at the community level. The most effective protection is investing in communities by strengthening local surveillance, ensuring early case detection, communicating risks clearly, and responding rapidly to contain the spread. Strong communities remain our first line of defence.
