The 4 key elements of building trust in a crisis:
1. Empathy: the most important element
2. Commitment
3. Expertise
4. Transparency: "here's what we know & what we don't"
Relevant for all local, state, & federal responses to #COVID19.

Collected some thoughts on the big takeaways and discussions from #JPM20 for those who aren’t here. Here are my top 5: www-cnbc-com.cdn.ampproject.… – at San Francisco, CA

Why did I wear a hospital gown on stage at #JPM20 which is 99% suits? To highlight the power imbalance between decision-makers & end-users. Patients are often stripped of agency, & blamed when they don’t “comply.” Let’s remember who is not represented at the meeting. #askpatients
First #jpm20 event of the week is off with a bang! The amazing @jhoronjeff showed up in a patient gown!

Random thought: Should health reporters be expanding their beat to include climate change? It is a public health crisis...
Moreover, I think @DrJenGunter is so fierce and unrelenting in her engagement style to over counteract the pseudo science and misogyny that runs so rampant, unchecked on social media. I don’t mind her policing women’s heath conversations to overcorrect the imbalance.
This piece makes a few interesting points, but I don't like feel the critique is fair.
There are lots of clinicians who talk down to patients, but @DrJenGunter is one of the few who takes the time to engage/communicate. We need more of that, not less.

How is Livongo, which is based in Mountain View, able to recruit out of Google down the street? Well, a lot of its employees have a chronic illness and are attracted to the mission, says Glen Tullman.

AT #HLTH2019, @Marc_Iskowitz caught up with @imrehealth's @whelanke to chat about sessions she viewed through a patient-experience and wellness lens, what she’s gleaned over the first two days of the conference, and her overall takeaways. 🎧 Listen here: bit.ly/34nYKfL
Thank you. This is the most important point.

A final note. This isn’t about free expression. This is about paying for reach. And paying to increase the reach of political speech has significant ramifications that today’s democratic infrastructure may not be prepared to handle. It’s worth stepping back in order to address.
It was nearly impossible to encapsulate all that I learned from #HLTH2019 in three simple trendlines, but these hot takes were just way too good to keep to myself linkedin.com/pulse/marketing…
Capping off a great few days at my first #HLTH2019. Grateful for all that I learned and time spent with some of my favorite people in healthcare, plus new connections who are as passionate about the future of health as @BrianDSimz and I!
This is amazing.

Well said! Also, wouldn't *everyone* want this? 🤪 #HLTH2019
“Millennials want Amazon-like efficiency and Four Seasons-like service” - @heathermirj #HLTH2019
“There are a lot of great ideas [at #HLTH2019], but the biggest challenge is scale.” - @annewoj23. IMO @23andMe is a great success story on this front, but there’s still more work to do around consumer perception and trust of how their genomic data is being used.
The @Walmart Health Services Center prototype in Dallas, Georgia is so exciting and ambitious. If they can scale this model effectively they will transform high quality, integrated care at affordable costs, in communitities that need it most. #HLTH2019
