Compilation time (at least in dev builds) is too often neglected, in my case it is one of the top priorities in programming language choice.
One thing that drives me crazy recently is that my NixOS rebuilds are dominated by slow Rust compile times. Its insane to me that I can compile qemu, neovim, gtk from source in the same amount of time it takes to compile one non-trivial but not crazy complicated Rust app (I won't name it, its not their fault). Bleh. (Yes, binary caches help, but that's just lipstick on a pig over the actual problem)

Why were the OOP crowd the ones to pick up on his discussion of patterns?
His emphasis on contextual relationships between parts/wholes seems at odds with a mantra of "encapsulate everything"

Another way to WhiteBox #DOOM30: inspect every line in the `A_FirePistol` function in detail, whenever I shoot.
As I move the cursor around the code, WhiteBox highlights when that line ran.
We can use this to check when `if` statements evaluated to true.
