NEW: Sen. Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) says she won’t support the nomination of Scott Colom to be a district judge in Mississippi. This could prevent his nomination from moving forward with Democrats maintaining need for home-state support on district picks. news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law…

Per the ESPN broadcast, Ace Buckner is the first Tiger since PJ Hall to open the season with back-to-back 20-point performances. Hall achieved that feat for Clemson in the 2023-24 season, when the team reached the Elite Eight.

Leftists be like: "Yes, Roy Cooper is a successful, popular two-term swing state governor who won a Trump state by 20 points, broke the Republican gerrymander, carried 5 Dems to the House majority, and helped Democrats win the heavily gerrymandered State House and come 200 votes from a trifecta, but have you considered that he doesn't have the most important quality in a leader, getting a standing ovation at a Pod Save America event?"

Put some respect on Roy Cooper’s name sir. Literally GOATed
I have no doubt the audience would have reacted the exact same way to Roy Cooper coming out.

After more and more counties come in, @scott_colom now has grown his lead to 2,635 votes statewide WITHOUT any of the thousands of affidavit votes from Hinds being reported. He will net thousands of more there. When the dust settles, @scott_colom WILL be the next United States Senator from Mississippi.

In 2026, there were DOZENS of races Dems narrowly lost due to weak/underfunded nominees. Going into 2028, one BIG advantage Dems likely have is that strong candidates will be MUCH more willing to take a shot at hard seats. Even if the year’s less blue, strong nominees can make the difference.

I’m really sorry to anyone who has tweet notifications on for me but as someone who has spent their entire life and career in this area, including a lot of white knuckle, had-to-be-perfect campaign and governing wins… I just can’t process what happened this week.

Currently diving into State House and State Senate-level data for @AnnieAndrewsMD’s win, and when you look at some of the places she won, Republicans are very, very lucky the tide didn’t sweep away a bunch more House members. For anyone who knows SC well, the data is WILD
