@UKParliament @10DowningStreet @UKLabour Brits need: affordable housing, rents, dentistry, vets. Nationalised water, energy. Industrialisation not militarisation of economy. Well-paid jobs for skilled young not just banksters. That’s REAL change! @Channel4News @LBCNews

We've waited patiently for a plan to end neoliberalism. We won't wait anymore.
We need rent controls
We need a wealth tax
We need *serious* cuts to energy bills
Instead it's a few pence off gherkins & a payout which the experts say won't touch the sides on energy bills.
Of course it has.
Israel launches ‘foreign interference’ investigation after record Palestinian voter turnout and electoral gains
——
Israel's Central Elections Committee Chairman Noam Sohlberg has formally requested that Shin Bet Director David Zini investigate allegations of foreign interference, foreign funding, and vote-buying in the Knesset elections, following a record 77% turnout among Palestinian voters and unprecedented gains by Palestinian parties.
In a letter to Zini, Sohlberg called for an official investigation into claims of credible intelligence concerning electoral interference.
According to Israeli media reports, Netanyahu's Likud party has filed thousands of complaints with police and Shin Bet, accusing Palestinian parties of vote theft, bribery, intimidation, and fraud.
Alarmed by the turnout, Likud has also alleged that Qatar and Turkiye paid large numbers of Palestinian voters to secure their votes.
The baseless accusations come after Netanyahu's bloc emerged as the largest but failed to secure a parliamentary majority, while Palestinian parties won an estimated 19 Knesset seats, placing them in a potentially decisive position in coalition negotiations.
Following Sohlberg's request, extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir called on the Shin Bet to seek arrest warrants against leaders of Palestinian parties suspected of links to so-called 'Qatari funding,' as well as other individuals connected to the Muslim Brotherhood, provided legal grounds exist.

Do watch:
It proves a point my wife Bunty has always made about big tough Robert Jenrick.
Whenever he gets found out or gets really addled, his voice suddenly goes much higher!
It literally goes up an octave like a schoolboy.
Here is a prime example. 😂

Poundland, owned by US private equity firm Gordon Brothers, on brink of administration. 12,000 jobs at risk.
Gordon Brothers rejected a management-backed rescue bid. Probably thinks it can raise more from a breakup.
Destruction of town centres continues.

Pretty grim stuff from an estate in South London where a housing association sold the homes to a property management company which is now attempting to push through evictions and convert the houses to HMOs

Nothing highlights @EstherMcVey1's ignorance like her tweet.
British-owned high street stalwart operated debt-free till the Tories let it be sold to German/South African Steinhoff International in 2016, just a year before its huge accounting fraud was exposed. Ruined Poundland.
Nothing highlights the fiscal failure of this government more starkly than the plight of Poundland. The chain's 600 stores and 12,000 workers sit on the verge of collapse, not because its customers have walked away - Poundland's sales grew by 6.7% in September - but because of this government's unaffordable tax rises, which makes it impossible to run a business that works on slim profit margins to keep its prices down for its customers. How ironic that a government preaching about helping the least well-off is forcing a company out of business that does just that.
From more than 50 invitations sent out, presumably. They're listening, they don't appear to be giving him a standing ovation.
Well, maybe... too many shit chemicals in US food anyway. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1119…

Another tragedy at an ICE prison in Georgia. 48-year-old Luis Sandoval has died while detained at the Folkston ICE Processing Center.
This was a preventable tragedy. We hold ICE and the private prison corporation fully responsible for any harm that migrants suffer at Folkston.

The man is almost as old as Israel itself and he’s still out here daring them to put the guns down. Take the rifles away and it’s just a group of cosplayers getting roasted by a pensioner.

Cuba has a higher literacy rate than the United States.
It has a longer life expectancy than many countries far wealthier than it.
It produced a medical system capable of sending doctors to dozens of countries, including some that sanctioned it.
It did all of this under 66 years of economic blockade.
Now imagine what it might have built without the blockade.
The people who imposed the blockade have imagined this too.
That is why the blockade continued for 66 years.
Not because Cuba was failing.
Because Cuba was, in specific and inconvenient ways, succeeding.
And a Cuba that succeeded under its own system was more dangerous to the argument than a Cuba that failed.
The blockade was not punishment for failure.
It was prevention of success.
