New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control. In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale. Here, we share how we built a new version control systemβ€”and fully migrated our monorepo from gitβ€”in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…

Opus 5.5 performs at the level of Fable 5.1. It's ~30% faster and ~40% cheaper than Opus 5 per task. In Claude Code: - 5-hour session limits increase 20% today - Opus 5.5 is priced lower, so it goes 25% further within limits - Pro, Max, and Team users get a reset to use anytime
Introducing Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in our new Claude 5.5 family. It performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 for most tasks, and costs 40% less to run than Opus 5.

After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI? I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev β€’ 20-200x faster β€’ 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free) β€’ Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution

Met a guy making $1.1 million a year as an agents engineer at Google Cloud. Asked him how he gets agents 20x better without changing the model. He sent me the exact thing he uses himself. A repo he open-sourced 2 days ago. You won't find anything better about harness engineering, in the open. Cloned it and pointed my agent at it last night. Ryan Lopopolo. Google Cloud engineer. 'harness-engineering' - anthology + field guide + agent context bundle. You reference his docs from your CLAUDE.md. 633 stars. 48 hours old. MIT. -> github.com/lopopolo/harness-… bookmark this before it gets lost.

Beginning July 20, Claude Fable 5 will be included in all Max and Team Premium plans, at 50% of limits. Pro and Team Standard users will continue to have access to Fable via usage credits, and will receive a one-time $100 credit. Demand for Fable has been challenging to predict, which is why we rolled it out to subscription plans in stages, extending access several times as we secured additional capacity.

AsΓ naciΓ³ HuntyCar.

We’ve received notice that the Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5. We'll begin restoring access tomorrow, and will share an update soon. We’re grateful to our users for their patience, and to everyone who worked with us on redeploying the models.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Introducing Claude Fable 5: a Mythos-class model that we’ve made safe for general use. Its capabilities exceed those of any model we’ve ever made generally available.

Introducing Claude Opus 4.7, our most capable Opus model yet. It handles long-running tasks with more rigor, follows instructions more precisely, and verifies its own outputs before reporting back. You can hand off your hardest work with less supervision.

Anyone has faced the β€œissue” of small context windows on GitHub copilot when coding in VSCode? I know it is manageable changing models between plan and implementation, but having @claudeai models with 1M token context but limited to ~160k is sometimes frustrating

Apologies, this was a docs clean up we rolled out that’s caused some confusion. Nothing is changing about how you can use the Agent SDK and MAX subscriptions!
Major Claude Code policy clear up from Anthropic: "Using OAuth tokens obtained through Claude Free, Pro, or Max accounts in any other product, tool, or service β€” including the Agent SDK β€” is not permitted"
