Well, unfortunately that's a side effect of selecting immigrants based on where they were born, and not because of their skills.
You opposed per-country caps removal, remember?

You should recapture all the wastes greencards, and use them to clear the employment based greencard backlog.
Perhaps even price it at $10k -$20k per greencard, to help towards the deficit.

Your country of origin should never determine if or when you receive a green card.
This system is anti-meritocratic and fundamentally un-American.
It’s time for a fix.

The U.S. was built by immigrants, but its broken policies are now driving them away. Skilled workers don’t have to wait anymore—they’re leaving, building the future elsewhere. Reform or decline: America has a choice, but time is running out.

The dark secret of U.S.-India immigration policy? Both sides benefit from keeping skilled immigrants in limbo. The U.S. exploits them as indentured tech workers. India welcomes them back as innovators. Trump and Modi won’t discuss this—but I did

Hey @DOGE @elonmusk what is going on? There are more critical issues impacting human lives that you promised to fix but Plastic Straws are preferred over them?
You say you support legal immigration? Well, US has a messed up immigration system that is making life hell for 1.8 million legal High-skilled immigrant families.
These are tax paying, law abiding people who are forced to wait for decades in the torturous backlog. Torturous because they have kids who fear self deportation due to aging out.
Would you walk the talk & sign an EO to clear this backlog?

This is Durbin's MO for immigration as well.

In my new op-ed for @CityJournal I argue that we must end DEI in immigration.
In the war for merit and against "diversity, equity, and inclusion" the immigration system is the ultimate battle.

It is absolutely necessary to create a system that treats people equally under the law instead of discriminating and giving preferential treatment based on immutable characteristics like country of birth.

The fine print they don't tell Indians while giving US Student F1 visa that costs $100k:
- Your best years? We'll take those
- Your SS taxes? We'll keep those
- Your Medicare payments? Thanks
- Your US-born kids? Must leave
- Your retirement? Not our problem
- Your green card? Maybe in 100 years

More like in those 2 decades, millions other became citizens, while Indians were still stuck in the H1B renewals loop.

A new melting pot demographic of 7% is born!
Next month, a 7% country of birth quota for USA ‘born’ will be allocated within the already zero-sum employment-based green cards (visas).
This is quite an unusual system!

You had too much expectation from Biden wrt backlogged community.
Now only if it was related to undocumented or TPS etc. Oh wait...he actually did extend TPS 😊

Everything that is happening here on X related to high skilled immigration is mostly noise. Join @immivoice discord and most importantly contribute a recurring donation! I have set up a $100 monthly recurring contribution to help me and my family. The time to contribute monetarily is now! The time to contribute advocacy wise will come soon.

We (the community) got HR1044 and S386 in 2019 passed the House and the Senate. Now, one can rightfully ask why I say what @immivoice is doing is the REAL advocacy. For that, the best evidence I can provide you is the press releases by lawmakers where IV has been mentioned. 1/

Kids of Indian parents who followed immigration laws and now stuck with no home is an example of
Indentured servitude practiced in America at scale by leaders of America to keep their economy running.
Absolutely pathetic.

We need to tell more such stories, spread awareness through X, emails, showing up with families in local congressional offices and also in DC as part of grassroots advocacy.
Nothing moves in DC without well targeted lobbying and advocacy efforts.
I am again saying social media is good but it’s impact will be short lived.
The trends on social media keeps changing. Continuous and targeted grassroots advocacy will only yield desired results.
