How do we feel about trolling the anti-housing crowd and bringing these signs to the next comp plan meeting? Too much?

Every time I sit with a local elected official I point out that our refusal to build housing is going to directly lead to Pennsylvania losing representation in the house and the first like 4 sentences I get back each time are about gentrification, equity, and displacement.
To my Seattle code nerds - can these be built in Seattle?

We know how to make our streets safer, so we did it 600 times.
Red light cameras reduce red light running by 80% and T-bone crashes by 65%. Most importantly, they help New Yorkers get home safely.
That's why we installed new red light cameras at 600 intersections across the five boroughs to help stop dangerous driving before tragedy strikes, and make our streets safer for everyone who walks, rolls, drives, or takes the bus.

Neighbors ratted out Volunteer Park Cafe over their patio and now no one can sit on their patio after the city determined patio use wasn’t within their special operating agreement. These are the worst people you know.

THIS HOLE IN THE GROUND WILL BECOME A BRAND NEW ELEVATOR THANKS TO CONGESTION PRICING
The rightoids on this site would have you believe that every liberal bastion is emptying out and homes values are getting crushed but the reality is most home price drops are concentrated in the South while the liberal West and Northeast are, comparatively, much more in demand.
This is nuts. Seattle has 23 homicides YTD, a homicide rate of about 2.9/hundred thousand residents (and from a homicide perspective very low across the US). And even we are getting smoked by El Salvador, a country of 6m.
Why do these tech guys always have to make a post about their layoffs? They never look good doing it, it wasn't a thing until like 5-7 years ago. I don't get it.
Today we’re laying off a large part of the Airtable team.
This is not a reflection of their work but a reflection of our deep belief that small teams ship more and better.
For Airtable, better is about to look like:
- A new Core team shipping your top requests monthly (already 30+ shipped in 3 weeks)
- Upgraded Omni, Airtable Canvas, a stronger MCP, and BYO agents, coming soon
- New Performance and Infra teams focusing on speeding up bases and increasing limits on records, fields, and syncs
To everyone leaving: thank you. If you’re hiring, these are excellent people and worth a call.

New addition to the Lime bike family: a 10 mph speed limiter when you enter parks/shared paths. It's that easy
Ideally, all car manufacturers should be required to install this. It would save thousands of lives, but the collective hissy fit/war on motorists would be unbearable

I've always found the Starbucks vs Local Coffee Shop thing mildly interesting because Starbucks fairly famously offers extremely generous benefits
How many local coffee shops offer health care, equity, PTO, and tuition assistance to part time employees?
I've never understood the arguments around upgrades. The seat has to be available to even get an upgrade. We know airlines are expanding 1st and Business classes because they sell so well, so why should travelers expect upgrades? It's unlikely there's even a seat available.
Replying to @josh__kaplan
I genuinely can’t remember the last time I was upgraded to Delta One. Even using a global upgrade certificate, it feels nearly impossible.
For a status that requires a pretty absurd amount of loyalty/spend, the actual benefits just don’t feel very beneficial anymore.
