Poker is one of the most important cheat codes in trading.
Jeff Yass ($59B net worth) trains traders at his $500B+ hedge fund using poker for good reason.
Here are 5 poker concepts that will make you a better trader:

A post on a true failure in DeFi.
After one year or so without incentives (which revealed there was 0 real user demand for their product) @synthetix is resorting to $SNX token dillution again to drive fake demand for their product.
After 7 years of building they were unable to have users use their product without getting paid for using it.
As a result, capital resumes its flow from investors towards users which is the opposite way of how a business is supposed to function. It is negative value creation.
This protocol has failed and is worth exactly $0 because it creates negative value.
Holding $SNX tokens at any price is misallocation of capital which only serves to further pay for deluded developpers building products and services that no one wants to pay for.
The market should really end this project so that @kain can start doing something productive for society like flipping burgers or smth.
Look at their own admission:
"The harsh reality is that without incentives, it is impossible to compete"
Yeah because the real harsh reality is that your product is worthless and shouldn't be existing and drawing capital away from places in the space where it would be better allocated.

🧵 Stupi...emm Fascinating $ETH bet analysis:
- If ETH ≥ $25k on Dec 31, 2025: @kain wins $500k
- If ETH < $25k: @KyleSamani wins $50k
2/ How to hedge this risk? Let's do the math:
Current ETH: $3k
ATM Vol: 70%
Int Rate: 4%
Time: ~1.13y to Dec'25
3/ Kyle's max loss is $450k if ETH > $25k
(pays $500k, gets $50k)
To "delta"-hedge this binary:
- Need ~20.45 ATM calls
- Each call costs ~$1,391
- Total hedge cost: $28.4k
4/ This creates a neutral position:
- ETH < $25k: Wins $50k from bet
- ETH ≥ $25k: Loses $500k from bet but makes $450k from options
5/ Key insight: Binary bets can be hedged with vanilla options, making seemingly risky directional bets market neutral.
Cost of peace of mind : 28.4k 🤓
Risk free profit: 21.6k 💰
bravo to Kyle
I was going to push for @cobie escrow service but yolo, better stay healthy @KyleSamani!
Another , even better, example:
2/ But now hedging with $7k strike calls:
Current ETH: $3k
Strike: $7k
Vol: 90% (it's actually lower)
Int Rate: 4% Expiry: Dec'25
3/ New hedging math:
Need ~25 calls ($450k / ($25k-$7k))
Each 7k call costs ~$838
Total hedge cost: $20.9k
BUT total cost is lower ($20.9k vs $28.4k)
Saves ~$7.5k on hedge! 📉
until the skew is not crazy he can definitely find better structures

Is it time to get seriouASS about $AAVE ?
@crypto_condom and I sat down and conducted a deep dive comparison of MKR vs. AAVE.
We believe $AAVE is significantly undervalued,
and here’s why👇
(Disclaimer: Both CC and I are invested in AAVE)

The recent blog posted by @VitalikButerin mentioned ERC-7683, our jointly proposed Ethereum Standard for Cross-Chain Intents
The blog post noted ERC-7683's decentralized nature and lack of centralized operator - something absolutely crucial in solving interoperability 🦾
Our belief in trustless systems is why we, along with @uniswap, are advocating for standardization in cross-chain intents, promoting a permissionless, third-party universal filler network for intent-based orders ✨

1) $AEVO
Couldn't be a proper long format tweet without including this.
I think everybody already said everything about this, one thing that isn't being discussed much is how much this will be an indicator for future similar events in the next months, especially regarding, say, to $XAI (can't thank enough whoever shilled me this initially).
Regardless, as for $AEVO in itself, i think most of the post-unlock PA will depend on how much of the current OI is naked short and how much is hedging (50/50? people smarter than me think so).
If you were short until now i don't see many reasons to risk it through, best case scenario it returns to rbn pre-aevo prices, which is what, 40c, 50c?
It seems kinda impossible to absorb all what people will throw at it, at the same time team and mm certainly didn't start thinking about how to face this in the last 6 hours right?
If it dumps hard i'll bid, for now i observe and take notes.
2) @base still the most interesting evm chain right now, what's going on on it:
- $SPEC @Spectral_Labs Ai agents,
What people didn't like:
the pivot, but it was kinda okay, it's not like it was ENTIRELY unrelated, there is a crimson link between the two things;
too many KOLs being in, somebody said there was a KOL round which is currently unaccounted for in tokenomics (didn't do due diligence, please if you know something more concrete tell me).
On the other side i say: actually appreciable AI usecase, right chain, backers good enough to have a path to t1 listings.
I'm neither a buyer nor a seller at this price, but i'm holding the bag and could add more towards 6$, could let go a little towards 10$.
- $DHT @dHedgeOrg bc of @0xflatmoney interesting ethena-like implementation on Base. Ethena has peculiarities that are unique to it and accessible only due to the size, but still an interesting possible bid (right now not holding).
- $FP @frenpetonbase an old love of mine, struggling too much every time i try to sell or to buy, so i grew a little bit frustrated with it, but it's undoubtedly one of the peak games on Base and probably after removing the tax (if ever) could have another good path to listings or more interest
- $FRIEND @friendtech obviously, as somebody pointed out today, club speculation kinda exhausted so now they're going to have to cook something (well the last time they took a year so...!!), which could possibly be whitelisting removal to allow for external transfers. Not sure if it's gonna happen already or soon, they might actually prefer to try to push it a couple times more.
- $SPEC (wait, didn't you already mention this??) yeah there are two $SPEC, one is a Polymarket competitor which apparently was infested by KOLs dumping their bags at listing.
I didn't follow this one, @0x_ridam told me about it (shout-out) but if doing dd you find out the infestation is out and no more surprises, then it could be interesting at this valuation honestly.
3) $MKR & subdaos
two weeks proposal for redistribution of subDAO tokens to $MKR holders, i don't expect subdao tokens to be actually worth much, but it may still trigger some renewed interest in $MKR (also $MKR good tokens for when things don't go too well here and it's off the peak since quite a while, even though the chart dangerously resembles the last time...)
Courtesy of @Togbe0x (absolutely follow him, chad), context: xitter.gq/Togbe0x/status/1…
4) $BODEN $MAGA & co.
Hunter Bod.. err Biden trial set to begin soon, is it bullish $BODEN, bullish $MAGA, bearish both, nothing?
No idea, just interested in hearing from you on this one, out of my depth.
Context: xitter.gq/DeItaone/status/…
A little bit of tradfi now, mainly three things
5) K-Beauty
LVMH packs up in Korea (K-beauty) after years of losses due to not being able to break in local markets.
Kind hard to bet in SK markets, but you can find something like Amorepacific... CJ Olive Young was interesting and was supposed to go on IPO one year ago, but postponed (sigh).
Very hard to buy anything else at least from Europe.
Mandatory shout-out to @0xstormborn
6) Musk + $ORCL
Context: investors.com/news/technolog…
Actually, the stock didn't jump at all, it gave TONS of time for investors to position properly, so i was really surprised (in a good way, i even had time to tweet about it and wait).
Calls dated summer are doing very good now, think i'll still hold both spot and calls and wait, Musk is Musk but we shouldn't still discount to literal 0% his words about xAI.
7) GPT 4o and Duolingo
Context: xitter.gq/netcapgirl/statu…
This was actually a take on which i don't have a particularly informed idea but i found really interesting (also found only a few months ago that duolingo is actually a public stock lmao) -- i don't think GPT is remotely close to be able to take the place of specialized companies/apps like Duolingo, but the path is definitely there and it'll be interesting.
Generally speaking this will be a recurring problem, with not only startups risking being replaced by chatgpt updates, but even public companies seeing their business going rekt for good (well especially covid stocks, right?)
Unluckily, even though i love shorting here, i don't like shorting in tradfi bc i've the crypto opportunity cost + the slowness of tradfi markets combined + the bad standard short rr, so it really is a shitty deal unless i have reasons to believe the price movement will be particularly near and violent.
Good night everybody, and to those who lately have been crying every day, please try to be a little bit less obnoxious
I developed a strategy for betting on the rank intervals of @puff_drgn on #Coingecko as part of a game where the goal is to predict the $PUFF rank on may 12th.
The time will be taken on random for Sunday 12th, between 1500 UTC and 1900 UTC. The hash of the exact time will be tweeted in advance!
The game involves betting on one of several specified rank intervals and includes mechanisms such as potency decay over time and prize sharing based on the amount bet.
If you want to read the rules then go here: xitter.gq/puff_drgn/status…
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐜𝐤-𝐀-𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐞!
While wondering around the Dark Forest, Puff encounters the 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒐𝒏𝒅.
A Gecko splashes out of the Pond and suggests a game-
"Predict which groundhole I will pop out of on Sunday and you can earn a 3,000,000 $Puff Prize!" 👇
By considering less popular betting intervals with potentially higher prize shares and timing the bets to maximize potency, the strategy provided a nuanced approach to maximizing potential returns in the game.
