An illuminating thread, if only to see an argument over the literal sense of John 6 somehow lead to a Protestant insinuating I converted to Catholicism because I got molested by my former Reformed pastor.

this would be a mildly compelling argument if "brain genes" were something real. unfortunately in the past century of looking, nobody's found them, so we're out of luck. keep looking though!

Eventually as demographics shift stuff like Trick or Treat will go away entirely. Theres lots of small things like this that rely on so many unwritten rules and a degree of societal cohesion we dont have anymore. Would your parent have stolen candy from a neighbor? Of course not.

This would be comical if it weren’t so depressing. FBI officials Nikki Floris and Bradley Benavides were caught dead to rights. Anyone with two functioning brain cells who has read the documents can see that they flatly denied to Congress what they were openly discussing in their own emails. The failure to do anything about the completely out-of-control DC courts, or to at least try to start fixing a system that makes it impossible to hold Democrats accountable, will be the most damning legacy of these past two years.

That's the Senate. Mitch McConnell and now John Thune have allowed Calif's two Democrat Senators to simply refuse to allow consideration of nominees by the Trump Admin for open N.D. Calif seats.
As a result, you have 7 Obama appointees and 7 Biden appointees.
The last District Judge in NDCA appointed by a GOP President -- Jeffrey White -- was nominated by Pres. GWB in 2002.
That's 24 years without a single GOP nominee to a Court with 14 District Judges.
Overall -- not just current Judges:
Biden -- 7
Obama -- 11
Clinton -- 8
Carter -- 3
Trump -- 0
GWB -- 1
GHWB -- 5
Reagan -- 5
Since Clinton's election in 1992, Dem Presidents have appointed 26 District Judges in the Northern District of California and GOP Presidents have appointed one 1.
That's a period of 34 years.
Replying to @shipwreckedcrew
Maybe for when things settle down, if they ever do: 14 judges in a district, all appointed by Obama or Biden. Is it possible to reform the Judiciary? Or the Senate judicial appointment process? How can we restore some semblance of balance?

The sheer speed at which this particular change has come about and intensified is truly incredible.
I mean I'm only 32 and even in my lifetime, absolutely basic opinions that 95% of Americans espoused are now utterly Haram even amongst self-styled "conservatives."
In 2002 -- just 25 years ago -- gay "marriage" was unthinkable to all but the lunatic fringe of the furthest left liberals. "Trans" literally didn't exist except as an exotic (and gross) joke. Most families, at least in rural areas like the one I grew up in, were still basically traditional -- wife at home mothering the kids, fathers were heads of household in the true sense, kids were running and playing outside.
The only "working mothers" I knew were very poor, usually single mothers. It was still considered desirable and high-status for a woman to not have to work. Women would openly show gratitude for not having to work jobs, and would say things like "what woman would want a job? Seeing what my husband deals with at his job, I'm not envious of THAT..."
Hell, around that time kids were still coming to school after deer hunting and left their rifles in their locked trucks. No problem. No metal detectors or "safety officers" at High Schools. It was essentially impossible to buy marijuana in my town, too. Wildest it got was drinking a 12-rack of Molson at a bonfire or maybe a fistfight with a kid from another town, no kidding.
Fast-forward just 25 years and you'll get crucified online or at family functions for even suggesting that there are objective differences between men and women, or that kids need their mothers at home instead of being raised by daycare staff, or for even saying the word "queer."
Having a beer or trapping beaver or "having too many kids" is looked upon with disgust by many, but publicly celebrating sodomy isn't. Even many "conservatives" gasp if you suggest that things like marijuana, pride parades, vasectomies, or divorces are bad -- and many of them are open atheists.
The worst part of it is that you're not only not supposed to notice these changes, you're intensely socially pressured to go along with all of it.
Are we better off for this incredibly swift series of changes? It doesn't appear that we are. Birthrates continue to crater, depression rates are sky-high, people are lonelier than ever.
We've changed too much too fast, and for it, we've lost ourselves, everybody is in this kind of mass psychosis -- and those who see this for what it is are scorned even in the company of "conservatives." It's insanity.
This era really feels like America's mid-life crisis.

You cannot save America without removing judges. Bukele didn’t save El Salvador by building a prison. He saved it by removing the judges.
The judges are the shield of the revolution.

Many republicans say the same thing here.
“We can’t have mass deportations because it would make the economy crash”
So you’ll just sit and let the cancer grow and get birthright citizenship instead?
No cayó.

The reason this went viral is that it shows the cost of mass immigration. Let me explain.
A high-functioning society like the USA (and formerly Western Europe) is generous. Take Halloween: safe, affluent neighborhoods welcomed outsiders who wanted their kids to have a good experience. No problem.
But when outsiders exceed the surplus—like the candy—locals lose out. Kids who arrived late got nothing because the outsiders broke the system.
The same applies to schools, housing, and healthcare: outsiders overwhelm them, and we can no longer access what we built and paid for.
Halloween in my neighborhood modeled what mass immigration does to a community. Over half of the roughly 400 trick-or-treaters were not from here. Their families drove in from elsewhere and simply took, unlike the local community that decorated, gave candy, and made the evening. We ran out of candy halfway through, so when kids and families I know showed up as I closed, they got only an apology. This is exactly what’s happening to Western countries with mass immigration.

Rogers has "harmed the black community"? I grew up in Detroit, all the way through college at Wayne State. There hasn't been any Republican who had a single bit of influence over the city and its citizens since 1962. All the "harm to the black community" came from your party.

Here you go - the NGO industrial complex at work to steal your elections & then your country. This has to stop now. It is truly outrageous. They are cheating on a brazen, organized scale. For the love of God. USE YOUR LEGAL AUTHORITY TO STOP THIS. The US Attorney’s office in Maine is reportedly reviewing 140 hours of footage that captured 200 voters being guided through the process of voting. Let’s see if they have the moral courage & integrity to do the right thing.

People who want other people to use public transportation for ideological reasons rarely appreciate how much basic competence would help their cause.
Washington commanders fans get locked in the metro.
It took so long for the train to get home that by the time it arrived at the final station, there were no employees there and all the doors were locked.
So tons of people were just trapped.
It normally takes like an hour to get home on the metro but today it took two hours. So everybody was already like frustrated.
Thank goodness the commanders won lol
Anyways, your final update, somebody showed up and let us out. The game ended at 11:27 PM and I got home at 1:59 AM.
I may never Metro again lol
