Attention lab technicians: PLEASE start listening to your patients. Today went like it often does. Me: “They can only get a vein in my hands. Please use this one.” Tech: “Everyone says that. I’m going to try your arm.” Me: “You’re not going to get it. Please don’t.” She tried anyway. Dug around. Tried again. And again. And again. After 6 sticks, she finally used the vein I pointed to in the first place. Then she tried to blame it on me being dehydrated. Well, I have active Crohn’s disease right now, so yes, I probably am. But, had she listened to begin with...

I once had a blood draw, got a call at 2 am that night 'hi I'm doctor [name] with [testing lab] who just reviewed your initial test results - you really should go to the emergency room right now... I'll call ahead.' Be glad they run the test at all hours. They'd call if urgent.
Healthcare is the only industry that drops your cancer scan results into an app at 11 PM on a Friday, then closes for the weekend. No call. No context. Just a PDF full of words like "suspicious" and "cannot be excluded" and a little banner that says "Sleep well!" Meanwhile billing found me in 4 hours 😐

Dear Police: You cannot charge someone for obstruction for refusing to talk to you. "Being suspicious" is not a crime. Just because you "got a call" does not obligate anyone to ID themselves or answer any of your questions. If you suspect someone of committing a crime, then arrest them, but they STILL don't have to talk to you. Hope this helps.

I recited this to my wife Cathy. She said "Those are three problems". I said "What part of 'off by one error' did you fail to understand?" I am resting comfortably and expected to make a full recovery.
There are two hard problems in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-one errors.

This is the sound of a plastic gear stripping out on a deflector actuator. There hasn't been true manual controls since the mid 90s, it's all computerized. The door is opening from vibration and when the computer tries to close it again you get this if a limit switch is worn /1
OK I got a weird one. 2005 Chevy tahoe. There's this WEIRD clicking down under the dashboard near the center or passenger side of the vehicle. It starts if the RPM's go above 2500 and continues for about 15-30 seconds. Pretty sure it's not the fan, it happens even when the fan is off. I tried the driver and passenger side heat/cold actuator and the recirc actuator, and it doesn't make the clicking noise. I have NO FUCKING clue what this was. I had the dogs with me so i couldn't really troubleshoot, but i got video of it.

Hey! Any geniuses here know what's up with this? Wired it up, and w/ antenna, I get a massive buzz when I key the mic. Is that a ground issue with the mic cable or something internal in the radio? I bought it mostly as set-dressing in the studio, but was playing with it today.
Today’s find! Anyone know the year?! I’m getting conflicting information, it’s either 1995 or 1985 by search results for the serial number. But it feels too clean for 85. It’s either gonna go in one of the studio sets or on the 1985 F250.

Looking at CDC guildlines, this means it is time for every American to shove a paper mask into their asshole. If you see someone alone in their car with a paper mask in their asshole, try to remember they are doing it to keep you safe as well as themselves. xitter.cf/Polymarket/status/2077…

Replying to @Bryan_Vines
I always assumed people were just reading too many star wars books when they came up with these.
