📢 Early warnings. Cross-border action. Climate-smart farming. Welcome news as the Adaptation Fund Board approves financing for two new @UNDP-supported projects in #Africa. The projects include $30 million for pastoralist and agro-pastoralist communities in the Mandera Triangle (spanning #Ethiopia, #Kenya and #Somalia) facing recurring droughts, floods and pressure on shared water and grazing resources. A further $4.97 million will go to drought-prone food-producing districts in #Rwanda. As @OllikainenAF, Head of the Adaptation Fund, noted, "These new Adaptation Fund-supported projects are designed to improve access to climate information, protect harvests and herds, and strengthen food security across borders. When livelihoods hold, countries and regions are better able to withstand both the slow onset of climate change and the next climate shock.” Read more: go.undp.org/x7G

What is nauseating, sad and unacceptable about this is that such crimes are taking place in South Africa and in broad day light and @SAPoliceService and law enforcement agencies are not taking action. Crime has now been normalised in South Africa. ^Ian @ParliamentofRSA

Why didn't the Royal family go public to protect Andrew's victims? And why have you used her father to bully her for years? And why would she go public and hinder an investigation? It's the job of the police to go public with their investigations. You're still bullying her.

A Memory From Tripoli “…I appeal to all Libyans, in the East and the West, as I have appealed to them since the first hours of this great ordeal, to lay down their weapons now, sit together in dialogue, and deny the foreign enemy the opportunity to exploit our divisions. Let us rely on our history of resistance, our Arab and Islamic values, and our common national interest. Otherwise, for many years to come, our national sovereignty will be taken from us, our oil wealth will be plundered, security will disappear, development will stop, the social fabric will collapse, terrorism will spread, and the future of the country will be left at the mercy of foreign alliances. The Libyan leadership and the institutions of the Libyan state understand the practical need for neutral international supervision, under the African Union and the United Nations General Assembly, of a comprehensive Libyan Libyan dialogue. We are prepared to accept whatever political outcome the Libyan people themselves agree upon, without foreign pressure and without serving the agendas of external powers.” A direct quotation from my international press conference in Tripoli on the morning of Wednesday, 6 July 2011. It came only days after mass demonstrations had begun taking place in Libyan cities in support of resistance to the NATO intervention. Irish journalist Lizzie Phelan, reporting live from Tripoli, described the statement as: “A strong formal appeal for national unity in a time of a devastating war, NATO aggressive intervention and Western media falsehood.” Reading these words again today, after everything Libya has endured since 2011, I leave them here for history.

🇬🇷|The Greek people are on the streets, and they are naming the enemy. They are not confused. They know who is selling their future: Marco Rubio, the Trump administration, and the Greek government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis. This is not a protest for wages alone. It is a revolt against a colonial arrangement. The U.S. Secretary of State arrives in Athens to finalize the sale of F-35 fighter jets and to deepen military cooperation. The Greek government has banned all public gatherings to shield him from the people. Riot police have deployed chemical agents to disperse demonstrators. The message from the ruling class is clear: the interests of Washington are more important than the rights of Greeks. The Crime Scene: Syntagma Square, Athens On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, thousands of Greeks gathered at Syntagma Square and marched toward the U.S. Embassy. Student associations, trade unions, and political parties carried Palestinian and Cuban flags. They chanted: "Murderer Rubio is not welcome," "Greece does not want to participate in massacres," "Out with the killers of peoples". The demonstrators were protesting the sixth round of the Greece-U.S. Strategic Dialogue, which Rubio came to formalize. The agenda included bilateral defense and security cooperation, the signing of a memorandum between the Greek Armed Forces and the Florida National Guard, and a ceremony marking the opening of a new wing at the U.S. Embassy. This is the institutionalization of occupation. 🔫 The Real Deal: F-35s and the Militarization of Greece Rubio's visit was accompanied by the finalization of the sale of 20 F-35 fighter jets to Greece, with pilot training scheduled to begin in 2027. Greece is also acquiring other advanced U.S. weapons systems. The message is simple: Washington is arming Greece for war. The Greek government is spending billions on U.S. weapons while teachers, nurses, and pensioners are told there is no money. The U.S.-NATO bases in Souda Bay, Larissa, Alexandroupoli, and Aktio are being upgraded and expanded. Greek territory is being turned into a launch pad for U.S. imperialist aggression in the Middle East and beyond. 💰 The Energy Heist: Chevron, ExxonMobil, and the Looting of Greek Resources While the streets burned, the real transfer of wealth was happening behind closed doors. In February 2026, a consortium led by Chevron was granted exclusive rights to explore and exploit hydrocarbons in maritime zones south of the Peloponnese and Crete. Two months later, ExxonMobil signed a similar deal for exploratory drilling in the northwestern Ionian Sea. This is not "energy security." This is the looting of Greek resources by American oil giants, brokered by the Mitsotakis government. The same government that claims it cannot afford to pay its teachers is handing over Greece's energy wealth to the same corporations that have destroyed the planet. 🛑 The State Terror: Chemical Agents and Bans The Greek police, under the command of the Mitsotakis government, did not simply stand by. They banned all public outdoor gatherings in central Athens from 6 a.m. Wednesday. They deployed drones and thousands of officers to monitor the protests. And when protesters marched toward the U.S. Embassy, riot police used chemical agents to stop them. The Mitsotakis government is not a government of the Greek people. It is a colonial administration that uses its police to protect the interests of Washington from the people of Greece. 🔗 The Wider Context: A People in Revolt This was not an isolated day of protest. For months, Greece has been paralyzed by strikes and demonstrations. Public-sector unions like ADEDY and GSEE, along with the Communist Party-linked PAME, have led general strikes against EU-imposed austerity. In September 2026, 35,000 workers rallied against new tax rises and spending cuts. Pensioners are planning further mobilizations. The anger is real. Wages are stagnant. The cost of living is soaring. And the government's response is to buy more weapons, sell more of the country to Chevron and ExxonMobil, and send more Greek soldiers to train with the Florida National Guard. #TheTruth: Colonized by Consent The Greek people know what is happening. The KKE has called for a "popular uprising" against the U.S.-NATO bases. The protesters in Syntagma Square are not fooled by the government's lies. They see Rubio for what he is: a representative of a genocidal empire that is waging war on Iran and Palestine, and they see their own government for what it is: a collaborator. This is the truth they do not want you to see. Marco Rubio came to Athens to collect the bounty. The F-35s, the Chevron contracts, the ExxonMobil deals, the Florida National Guard memorandum these are the instruments of Greece's vassalage. And the Greek people, on the streets with Palestinian flags in their hands, are the only ones telling the truth.

NIGER DENOUNCES FRENCH AND UKRAINIAN PROXY WAR #SOS Niger is under attack, and it is currently being targeted from every angle, but particularly in the northeast of the country, by French- and Ukrainian-backed proxy forces reportedly coming in from Libya and Chad. In this powerful United Nations speech, Lamine Zeine, the prime minister of Niger, denounces imperialism and reaffirms that the process of material decolonisation in the Sahel is irreversible. According to reports from Africa Intelligence and other sources, the Chadian government, led by Mahamat Déby, and Saddam Haftar, chief of staff of the ground forces of the Libyan National Army and commander and head of the Tariq Ben Zeyad Brigade, are working to destabilise and attack Niger from the northeast. Rumours of such destabilisation efforts have abounded on the internet for several weeks and are now finally confirmed by Nigerien authorities at the world's highest international body. Recently, Captain Roger Gabriel, company commander of the 1st Parachute Battalion of the Nigerien Army, also accused Chad of involvement in a mutiny in Niger's capital city, in which they attempted to overthrow Niger's president, Abdourahmane Tiani. As Prime Minister Zeine articulated in his speech, international powers, particularly in the West, intend to spread the message that African states cannot govern and defend themselves without dependence on Western intervention and occupation. Ukraine is brazen in its support for t*rrorist and rebel factions in the region, and even French media no longer obfuscates France's collaborations with t*rrorist organisations. In a recent example, French media reported on a deal in which Mali liberated a captured French spy, Yann Vezilier, in exchange for the release of 82 Malian soldiers held in captivity by the al-Qaeda affiliate JNIM. This suggests a clear link between French intelligence and t*rror group JNIM.

Niger: "What some call terrorism in our region is a cynical scheme of recolonization dressed in extremist rags."
🇳🇪 Niger at the UN: "Ladies and Gentlemen, as I speak to you, at our northeast borders stand the proxies led by France, backed by Ukraine and 2 other countries." "And you know full well which countries I mean." "These proxies are armed, guided, directed, about to attack our military positions and our oil installations. But they will get what they deserve, inshallah." "Our Sahel is at war. A war of liberation against a conspiracy aimed at its recolonization." "What some call terrorism in our region is a cynical scheme of recolonization dressed in extremist rags." "Niger's uranium, the gold of Mali and Burkina, lithium, gas, oil and so many other riches keep the old powers salivating." "This perfidious destabilization of the central Sahel, led by France with Ukraine's active complicity -- documented, very documented." "Niger's uranium lit up Europe's cities while ours stayed in darkness. This injustice has now ended. It is over." "A people that has decided to be free cannot be recolonized, not by fear, nor by cunning, nor even by savage violence."

Niger’s Prime Minister Lamine Zeine Ali Mahaman says the Sahel’s wars are driven by foreign powers’ appetite for the region’s resources, including Niger’s uranium and the gold, lithium, gas, and oil of Mali and Burkina Faso.

It’s sickening that in South Africa we still view social issues and our failures through the lens of “nationality.” Apartheid’s segregationist mindset persists because @MYANC failed to deliver the education and socio-cultural reforms we needed. ^Chipo @DIRCO_ZA @GovernmentZA
BEE was created to uplift previously disadvantaged South Africans. Now tell me how were Zimbabweans disadvantaged by the apartheid system🤔? Why must Zimbabweans qualify for upliftment in SA🤔? This needs a parliamentary enquiry @ZungulaVuyo @HermanMashaba

Dear Minister @Leon_Schreib What would it take for Lawrence Chamurwa Mudzinganyama to be declared an undesirable person and deported to Zimbabwe, What is the procedure and where can the matter be formally reported for investigation? Surely we can't have such foreigners in country
