likeee ik people wanna perceive lestat during the nola depression era as callous but post s3 you can understand how much of his self worth is built into being a desirable sex object and he’s not so much demanding sex as he is checking if louis still perceives him as having value
Specifically, I’m thinking of S1 and the way Lestat places all his worth in his ability to be sexually attractive. That comes straight from Gabriella, which makes me think that the choice had already been made.

Why do clothing brands sew itchy, plasticky care tags into the exact spot on your lower neck where you can feel them with every breath, and then use industrial kevlar thread so ripping the tag out tears a hole in the shirt?

I hate it. I hate it every time I see a woman trade in her distinct beauty for the same cookie cutter inhuman bullshit as everyone else. It's sickening watching every unique feature be annihilated and a stunning woman be turned into a cheap plastic knockoff of herself.

It’s sad to think features like these have survived centuries, thousands of years of human history. Hooded eyes, aquiline noses, strong eyebrows, round cheeks, thinner lips, tall, larger built, square jaws, the very faces our mothers, our grandmothers carried, all of it stretching back to queens and peasants alike. Features that have survived it all, seen it all, and all for you to be told now — well it’s just not attractive. Imagine inheriting a face shaped by the entirety of human history, imagine being blessed with a beauty that has survived the many rises and falls of humanity, only to be told you now have to give it all up to the vanities of this generation. What worth is beauty without any history? What worth is beauty without meaning? What worth is beauty when it stops being something we recognize and instead becomes just something we manufacture?

📰 Fantastic Man October 2026 article for #WangYibo’s cover issue as the only celebrity in their elite lineup of “People of the Year”. He talked about the sports he love, particularly racing, and his competitiveness. Wang Yibo: I have been struggling with myself for a long time. Over the past year, Wang Yibo has pushed himself to different speeds. Beyond the Paris Fashion Week cameras, he ventured into the mountains to film the Season 2 of Exploring The Unknown, pushing himself to even greater limits on rock faces and high altitudes; then he became race car driver #85, repeatedly breaking his personal best lap times during preparation and competition. These things seem to belong to different worlds, but they share a common thread in Wang Yibo’s life: he is always seeking opportunities to fully immerse and challenge himself. Control, loss of control, and then control more—from muscles and emotions to the innate desire for control within a person. In September, we met him in Shanghai. It was a few days before the start of the China GT Championship Shanghai round, before the new high-speed competition began. Wang Yibo continues to explore the limits of his body through sports. That’s a whole different world: while dancing requires ultimate control over one’s muscles, the sports he’s passionate about—skateboarding, skiing, rock climbing, and racing—all demand finding a balance between control and loss of control. He found true freedom within the pressure imposed by nature. This is probably why Wang Yibo is so fascinated by these sports: people develop a very specific relationship with their bodies. The body remembers each instance of loss of control, panic, and mistakes, and it also remembers how a person adjusts, starts afresh, and surpasses themselves. For him, attention and applause are both a reward and a personal emotional experience. Spectators only care about the immediate win or loss, but the story between driver Wang Yibo #85 and racing has lasted for seven years, and he has gained something more important than winning. He has always admitted that he is a competitive person, but in racing, he has gradually learned to control his desire for control, accept the existence of the uncontrollable, or rather, learn to let go. Wang Yibo, as seen at the work site, remained very quiet throughout. But quiet doesn’t mean there’s no competition. In his inner world, he’s constantly competing with himself, pushing his physical limits and mental resilience on the long journey of life. Unbeknownst to him, this competition has long since become a battle with himself. If once isn’t enough, do it again—this is the practice that driver 85 always followed. 🔗 mp.weixin.qq.com/s/Fhon7aKTM…

your mom leaves for a few days with the fridge stocked and 30 bucks on the counter for pizza and you're all settled in to goof off and stay up late and then your dumbass 9 year old brother drops a dumbbell on his head. I know these kids were livid
Bodycam footage shows Florida deputies arresting a mother at an airport after authorities say she left her four children, ages 9, 11, 12 and 14, home alone while traveling to Las Vegas for work. Irene Miller, 50, was taken into custody Friday as she stepped off a plane. Two days earlier, one of her children had called 911 after a dumbbell fell on her 9-year-old brother's head. When deputies arrived at the family's Kissimmee home, they found the children without adult supervision and had the injured boy taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released. Miller now faces four counts of child neglect.
